Renault has launched the Triber in India with a starting price of Rs 4.95 lakh for the base RxE trim. Prices go all the way up to Rs 6.49 lakh for the top-spec RxZ trim. One of the Triber’s USPs is that it features flexible seating layouts, by which the model can offer seating for up to seven people in a sub four-metre form.
In terms of engines, Renault has equipped the Triber with a sole 72hp. 1.0-litre BS4-compliant petrol engine option, which is paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The French carmaker will upgrade the 1.0-litre engine to BS6-spec before the April 2020 deadline.
Although the Triber has only just arrived, Renault has already released an official accessories list for the seven-seater. There are a large number of accessories for the interior and exterior, as well as four accessory packages that will be available with the Triber. For those who don’t want individual accessories, the French carmaker offers a number accessory packages with the Triber. The packages include the SUV Pack, the Chrome Pack, the Essential pack (which adds a car cover, bumper protectors and more) and the Urban Pack (which adds front parking sensors, ambient lighting and more).
The Renault Triber competes against the likes of the Datsun Go+, the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga petrol variants, the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R with the 1.0-litre petrol engine, the Hyundai Grand i10 and the Ford Figo.
