Renault has brought out a facelift for its Duster to keep it competitive against newer rivals. Priced from Rs 7.99 lakh for the base petrol-manual variant, and going up to Rs 12.50 lakh for the top-spec diesel-manual with AWD, the Duster facelift looks slightly different on the inside and outside. One of the key reasons for the exterior redesign is for the Duster to meet upcoming pedestrian safety norms that will come into effect in August 2020.

In addition to the styling tweaks, Renault has also updated the features list, though the variants and engines-gearboxes options remain the same. Do note, however, the 1.5-litre K9K diesel engine, which is found in nearly every Renault model in India, will be discontinued before the April 2020 BS6 deadline. For now, the Duster is available in a total of nine configurations including five engine-gearbox options. Here are the powertrain and features each variant gets and their respective prices:

  • 16-inch alloy wheels

  • Rear centre armrest

  • Power adjustable wing mirrors
  • 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth, ESB, AUX, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility

Duster RxZ [Rs 12.10 – 12.50 lakh]

Available in 110hp, 1.5-litre diesel-MT and AMT

It is interesting that despite the facelift and increase in equipment, the starting price of the updated Duster is the same as the outgoing model. This should help it compete better against its rivals, the Maruti Suzuki S-cross (Rs 8.86-11.49 lakh) and the Hyundai Creta (Rs 10-15.65 lakh)

All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi
