Nissan India, which confirmed the ‘Tekton’ name for its upcoming midsize SUV last October while also teasing some of its exterior and interior, will fully reveal the model on February 4. The Tekton is Nissan’s version of the upcoming Renault Duster and is expected to launch in India around June 2026. It will go up against models such as the Hyundai Creta, Tata Sierra and Kia Seltos.
- Tekton means "craftsman" or "architect" in Greek
- Rivals to the Tekton include the Hyundai Creta, Tata Sierra, and others
Nissan Tekton: Everything we know so far
Connected LED headlights, multi-spoke alloy wheels

The Tekton features connected LED headlights and tail-lights (with a C-shaped signature), which is a nod to Nissan’s Patrol flagship SUV. In profile, pull-type door handles at the front and C-pillar-mounted ones at the back were seen in the teasers, along with multi-spoke alloy wheels and silver-finished roof rails.
Three-tone dashboard

Coming to the interior, the last teaser only showed a three-tone dashboard with a glossy black finish and a bronze-coloured strip running from the central touchscreen to the side AC vents. Features such as a wireless charger, automatic climate control and a sunroof are expected.
1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine likely
While details about the engine and gearbox options for the Tekton are yet to be confirmed, it is expected to get a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol unit; lower trims could be offered with a 1-litre turbo-petrol engine, currently used in the Nissan Magnite. Manual and automatic transmission choices are likely to be on offer. A hybrid powertrain could also be introduced at a later stage.
Nissan Tekton price expectations
Could start at Rs 10 lakh
Set to take on the hotly contested midsize SUV segment, the Nissan Tekton is expected to be aggressively priced between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 18 lakh, ex-showroom. Nissan currently uses a similar pricing strategy for the smaller Magnite, which costs significantly less than its compact SUV rivals. The Tekton is a crucial model for Nissan in India as the brand’s current line-up is limited to just the Magnite and the X-Trail, the latter of which hasn’t found many takers.
