Porsche has pulled the covers off the 992.2 911 Turbo S in both coupe and cabriolet body styles at the Munich Motor Show 2025. With 711hp on tap from its hybrid powertrain, the newest 911 Turbo S is the most powerful iteration of Porsche’s iconic sports car to date.

  1. New 992.2 911 Turbo S makes 711hp from 3.6-litre, twin-turbo flat-six hybrid
  2. Wider than the 911 Carrera; gets extra air intakes, a new wing, and centre-lock wheels
  3. Turbonite trim on the exterior and interior further sets the new 911 Turbo S apart
  4. India launch of the new 911 Turbo S is likely

The 992.2 Turbo S uses the same 3.6-litre, turbocharged flat-six ‘T-Hybrid’ powertrain as the 911 Carrera GTS. However, the Turbo S adds another electric turbocharger to the mix, forming a twin-turbo hybrid setup that outputs a colossal 711hp and 800Nm – up 61hp over the outgoing model. There’s a 6.8kg lighter (and louder) sports exhaust with a titanium muffler and tips in the new 911 Turbo S as well.

0-100kph in a claimed 2.5 seconds.

An 8-speed dual-clutch transmission channels the 911 Turbo S’ grunt to all four wheels, with a claimed 0-100kph time of 2.5 seconds, a 0-200kph time of 8.4 seconds, and a top speed of 322kph for the Coupe. It also gets the largest carbon ceramic brake discs fitted to a two-door Porsche model so far, measuring 420mm and 410mm at the front and rear, respectively. The latest version of Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC) is also a part of the package.

14 seconds faster than outgoing model on the Nurburgring Nordschleife.

Despite the added complexity of the hybrid powertrain, Porsche claims that the new 911 Turbo S Coupe weighs just 85kg more than its predecessor, and that the “increase in weight has been more than compensated for in all areas relevant to driving dynamics.” To prove this, Porsche lapped the new 911 Turbo S Coupe at the Nurburgring Nordschleife and clocked a time of 7:03.92 minutes, which is a staggering 14 seconds quicker than the previous model.

Decked out in Turbonite trim.

To visually differentiate the new Turbo S from other 911 variants, Porsche has finished much of the exterior trim, including the emblems, wheels, and ‘Turbo S’ lettering at the rear, in Turbonite – a bronze-esque colour that’s exclusive to the German carmaker’s Turbo models. It gets HD Matrix LED headlights as standard too.

Additionally, the new 911 Turbo S is wider than the Carrera models, gets air intakes just ahead of the rear wheel arch, sports a ducktail wing, and rides on new centre-lock alloy wheels – 20 inches at the front, 21 inches at the rear. Notably, the rear tyres on the new 911 Turbo S are wider than the outgoing model by 10mm, likely to better support the added weight of the hybrid powertrain.

Active aero tweaks result in up to 10 percent reduction in drag coefficient.

Up front, the new 911 Turbo S also features and active front diffuser and active air curtains that open up for cooling and close to reduce drag – similar to the Carrera GTS hybrid. The enhanced active aero is claimed to reduce drag coefficient by up to 10 percent.

Inside, Turbonite accents have been used for the door liners, steering wheel, dashboard, centre console, instrument cluster, seat belts and stopwatch. Elsewhere, the new 911 Turbo S retains the creature comforts of the Carrera models, including an infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a digital driver’s display, dual-zone climate control, 18-way electrically adjustable sports seats with memory function, and more.

In typical Porsche fashion, buyers of the new 911 Turbo S will have a smorgasbord of optional extras to choose from and personalise their car.
