While you could call the last Aston Martin Vantage elegant (classy, even), the latest car is decidedly aggressive in look. That gaping grille divides opinion but, to our eyes, the Vantage’s rear-end is certainly among the most gorgeous in the business. The Vantage’ low-set two-seater cabin is a cosy in space and sporty in look. If there’s anything to bring up, it’s that there are way too many buttons scattered on the inside – also, you’ll have to spend big money on options.
The Aston Martin Vantage is powered by a Mercedes-sourced 510hp, twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 petrol engine. As you’d expect, the Vantage is blisteringly quick; and what sucks you into the experience is the riveting soundtrack – the Vantage is one of the best-sounding cars on sale. It’s also properly lithe and agile, but you’ll need to book a track session to exploit the car's handling to the fullest. In everyday conditions, you can use the drive modes to tone things down, although there’s still an ever-present firmness to the ride. The far-extending front splitter also calls for extra caution.
