Mahindra Be 6 and XEV 9e

We have nearly every bit of info regarding the Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e, except the prices of select mid- and higher-spec variants. And, on the sidelines of the recent Auto Expo 2025, Rajesh Jejurikar, executive director and CEO of Mahindra’s Auto and Farm Sector, told us when we can expect the price announcement for the remaining variants. “We will announce the schedule [of the rollout] for [Pack Two] by the end of March,” he said.

Mahindra announced prices for the entry-level BE 6 and XEV 9e Pack One variants at November-end before revealing the top-spec XEV 9e and BE 6 Pack Three’s prices earlier this month.

  1. Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e have four variants each
  2. Only top-spec Pack Three gets 59kWh and 79kWh battery options
  3. Introductory prices for BE 6 and XEV 9e Pack One will continue

The Be 6 and XEV 9e have four variants each; it was revealed when both born electric SUVs achieved a 5-star Bharat NCAP safety rating. The entry-level Pack One, the mid-spec Pack Two and the top-spec Pack Three all get the 59kWh battery pack, which has an MIDC range of 556km in the BE 6 and 542km in the XEV 9e. Only the top-spec Pack Three trim gets the larger 79kWh battery pack as an option, which is said to go 682km on a single charge in the Tata Curvv EV rival BE 6 and 656km in XEV 9e, Mahindra’s answer to the upcoming Tata Harrier EV.

Also yet-to-be-announced are the exact features in the mid-spec Pack Two trims. For reference, here are the features in known BE 6 variants; the XEV 9e has a slightly longer list.

Interestingly, Jejurikar also confirmed that the introductory prices for the Pack One variants will continue for the foreseeable future. “We have said that we will hold on to the price we announced for Pack One whenever we introduce that,” he said.

The BE 6’s starting price of Rs 18.90 lakh makes it more expensive than most of its current rivals, such as the Tata Curvv EV (Rs 17.49 lakh) and Hyundai Creta Electric (Rs 17.99 lakh). While the MG ZS EV’s starting price of Rs 18.98 lakh is marginally higher, the top-spec variant of MG Motor India’s mid-size e-SUV (Rs 26.64 lakh) costs slightly less than the range-topping BE 6 (Rs 26.90 lakh).

It remains to be seen if the Mahindra XEV 9e's Rs 20.90 lakh-30.50 lakh price range will be competitive against the likes of the Tata Harrier EV.
