The Bharat NCAP has crash-tested the Mahindra BE 6, which has secured an impressive 5-star rating for both Adult and Child Occupant Protection. BNCAP also crash-tested the larger XEV 9e, which scored the same rating. Notably, the Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) scores for both these SUVs are the highest awarded by BNCAP so far.

  1. The BE 6 secures 31.97/32 in Adult Occupant Protection
  2. Its Child Occupant Protection score is 45 out of 49
  3. It was rated ‘OK’ in the side pole impact test

Mahindra BE 6's Adult Occupant Protection

The BE 6 has secured 31.97 out of 32 points in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP), making it the second-highest AOP score after the XEV 9e, which received 32/32 points. The report noted that the protection provided to the driver’s and passenger’s head, neck, and chest regions was good, but the BE 6 lost points for offering 'adequate' protection to the driver’s knee. In the side movable deformable barrier test, it scored 16.00 out of 16.00, providing good protection overall.

In Child Occupant Protection, the BE 6 secured 45 out of 49 points, matching the XEV 9e, Thar RoxxSkoda Kylaq and Tata Punch EV, the highest score so far. It got full points in the dynamic test (24/24) and CRS installation test (12/12), and scored 9 out of 13 in the vehicle assessment test. Both the 18-month-old and 3-year-old child dummies were tested in rearward-facing child seats positioned in the front passenger seat, secured by ISOFIX anchorages and a support leg.
