Porsche has introduced the new Cayenne GTS for 2024 with improved standard equipment, more power, as well as some styling updates.

  1. Cayenne GTS, Cayenne Coupe GTS get more power, torque
  2. India launch expected in mid-2024

2024 Porsche Cayenne GTS: exterior, mechanical changes

The new Cayenne GTS now gets Porsche’s Sport Design package, which adds gloss black side skirts, window trims, front inlays and wheel extensions. The package is standard along with the HD LED matrix headlights. The GTS also gets bronze-coloured tailpipes, previously black, while the car’s 21-inch wheels are now painted grey.

The sporty SUV gains new chassis technology and sits 10mm lower than before. Also on offer as a standard fitment is adaptive air suspension – this tech is already used on the Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid and Turbo GT models. The system includes Porsche active suspension management (PASM) and Porsche torque vectoring plus (PTV Plus).

Powering the Cayenne GTS is the same 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine, but power is up from 460hp to 500hp, while torque rises from 620Nm to to 659Nm. The engine is mated to an 8-speed Tiptronic S automatic transmission, which Porsche says has been revised to offer quicker response and shift times in Sport and Sport Plus modes. The new Cayenne GTS can sprint from 0-100kph in just 4.4 seconds, 0.1 seconds quicker than before.

2024 Porsche Cayenne GTS: new equipment

The updated SUV gets Porsche Driver Experience system, which adds a curved digital driver’s display as standard. Other new standard features include a premium Bose sound system and ambient lighting, while Cayenne Coupe GTS models gain a panoramic sunroof and an extending rear spoiler. A passenger-side infotainment display is optional. Porsche is also offering three lightweight packages that add features such as a carbon rear diffuser, a lighter roof and reduced insulation, thereby reducing the SUV's weight by as much as 25kg.

2024 Porsche Cayenne GTS: India launch, expected price

The new Cayenne GTS and Cayenne Coupe GTS will launch in India around mid-2024, carrying a price tag of around Rs 2.5 crore. The standard Porsche Cayenne and Cayenne Coupe are currently priced at Rs 1.36 crore and Rs 1.42 crore respectively.

Porsche is not offering its hybrid line-up in India due to low demand for previous versions, and hence, will bring the GTS as the sole V8 offering in India, rather than the lower-powered S, for those who were waiting for a high-performance version of the Cayenne. A similar route will be taken for the Panamera as well.
