Hello experts, I am at a juncture where I could possibly buy a German car. I am interested in the Porsche Cayenne, Mercedes-Benz GLC, and BMW X3 (all diesel variants). Which offers better value and ease of maintenance? Kindly suggest if that would be a good buy. My budget is around 30 lakh.

While you can get a used Porsche Cayenne diesel under Rs 30 lakh, you will get a much older model, likely with many kilometres on the odometer and perhaps not in the best condition. Also, while the car's price might be low, you would still be paying Porsche prices for parts and servicing, which is at a premium compared to the other German brands, and requires specialised service centres. Hence, while tempting, a used diesel Porsche could be a costly affair in the long run.

Definitely stick with either a Mercedes-Benz GLC or BMW X3, where you will find newer, lower-mileage examples within your budget. Both are easy enough to service, and choosing which is a matter of preference, car condition, and which one you can find a good local mechanic to service better. If you like to drive, we recommend the BMW X3 over the Mercedes car for its sharp handling and free-revving diesel engine.

I am looking for a mid-size SUV in the Rs 15-16 lakh range. I have narrowed my list down to the new Duster 1.3 Turbo Techno+ and the Hyundai Creta 1.5 NA S(O). I really like the Creta's interior, but I am concerned that since Kia has already launched the new-generation Seltos, the new-generation Creta may not be far away. My daily running is approximately 80km, mostly on the highway, with some city driving. Please suggest which would be the better buy.

I currently own a used Maruti Ciaz (2025) and am planning to shift to a smaller car since my regular driving is within the city and occasional long highway rides. Is Maruti Suzuki Wagon R ZXI Plus 1.2 a good choice considering Maruti's reliability and easy access to inexpensive spare parts? I do not want to stretch my budget beyond 10 lakh. The Wagon R is primarily a city car, and while it can handle highway trips, it does not feel as composed or as comfortable at higher speeds as a larger hatchback.Instead, consider the Maruti Suzuki Baleno facelift as it would be a better fit and its smaller car than your Ciaz but you won't be compromising too much on comfort and highway ability. The Baleno is still easy to drive in the city, offers a better ride quality and more stability on highways, and is more refined overall than the Wagon R.The upcoming Renault Triber turbo is an interesting alternative if you need more flexibility with seating and boot space, but it is not as refined or as proven as the Maruti options.Overall, the Baleno would be the more balanced upgrade from a Ciaz.

I currently drive a Grand i10 Manual petrol and am now planning to buy a new compact SUV that is comfortable, fuel efficient and has low maintenance. My usage is 35km of daily office commute in Delhi-NCR traffic. Please advice which option is best fit amongst Hyundai Venue HX 6T, SONET HTK+O and XUV 3XO.
