The much-awaited Hyundai Venue is all set to go on sale tomorrow. While Venue prices will only be known then, Hyundai has revealed its compact SUV will come with a 3-year/unlimited km warranty as standard. Interestingly, the Venue’s standard warranty package gives it an edge over direct rivals, namely the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon and Ford EcoSport.

The Hyundai Venue’s 3-year/unlimited km standard warranty is the most generous in the compact SUV segment. All rivals offer a 2-year warranty as standard, albeit each with their own mileage restrictions. For instance, Mahindra’s 2-year warranty is not clubbed with any mileage clauses. On the other hand, the Ford EcoSport’s standard warranty is 2-year or 1,00,000km, whichever comes first. The Tata Nexon warranty package expires at 75,000km. Although it’s the segment best-seller, the Vitara Brezza has the most limited warranty of 2 year/40,000km. Do note, extended warranty packages are available on all the models for an additional payment.

The Hyundai Venue’s lengthy warranty package could help rationalise the model’s relatively premium price tag, which is expected in the range of Rs 8-12 lakh (estimated, ex-showroom). Hyundai has also made public that the Venue will offer the lowest cost of ownership. As is widely known, the Hyundai Venue will go on sale with a 1.4-litre diesel, a 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine options, with the last one available with the option of a dual-clutch transmission.
