Hyundai Creta EV

The Hyundai Creta EV will be launched on the first day of the Bharat Mobility Show 2025 – January 17 – where it will be displayed to the general public. The SUV will be one of the star attractions at the Hyundai stall alongside the Ioniq 9 EV.

  1. Creta EV will share interior bits with the Alcazar
  2. Likely to come with a 138hp motor
  3. Deliveries to start by February 2025

Hyundai Creta EV to take on BE 6e, Curvv EV

The Creta will rival the newly introduced Mahindra BE 6e (which could be renamed the BE 6), the Tata Curvv EV, the MG ZS EV and Maruti's upcoming born-EV SUV, the e Vitara (which will also be shown for the first time at the same event).

Unlike some of its rivals, Hyundai is expected to play it safe with the Creta EV, especially in the design department, and it's likely to have a lot in common with the standard ICE-powered Creta. The electric SUV is expected to get styling tweaks like a new-look closed grille, fresh design for bumpers and a different design for the alloy wheels.

On the inside, the differentiating bits will be the three-spoke steering wheel, a drive selector controller placed near the steering wheel column, a restyled centre console with two cup holders, and buttons for the electronic parking brake, cooled seats, auto-hold and 360-degree camera. Additionally, some of the equipment like HVAC controls on the centre panel will be borrowed from the Alcazar facelift.

The Creta EV will retain the twin-screen setup for the infotainment and instrument cluster, along with a bunch of physical controls for easy accessibility. The infotainment could get more EV-specific features and an updated software.

Hyundai Creta EV range, battery

As reported by us earlier, the Creta EV will get a 45kWh battery pack, which, while less than the MG ZS EV (50.3kWh) and the upcoming Maruti eVX (49-61kWh), is on par with the entry-level Curvv EV’s 45kWh battery; the Curvv EV also gets a larger 55kWh option. The Creta EV is expected to come with a single, front-axle-mounted motor that produces about 138hp and 255Nm. This motor is similar to the one found on the latest-gen Kona EV that's not on sale in India.

Hyundai India is planning to produce around 24,000 units of the SUV every year. Expect competitive pricing from Hyundai when it goes on sale next month.
