I own a Hyundai Creta Electric Long Range, delivered on September 20, 2026, although it was registered in July 2026. Sometimes, the car does not deliver the 400-450 km range I expected after a full charge. It achieved the displayed range on the first charge, but now the estimate is 50-100 km lower. Is this normal, or has Hyundai failed to deliver the claimed range?

What you are seeing is completely normal behaviour for an electric car. The range displayed on the Hyundai Creta Electric is not a fixed number. It is a prediction based on your recent driving style, speed, use of air conditioning, terrain and even outside temperature. If you have been setting a lower AC temperature or frequently driving at high speeds, the car will show a lower estimated range after a full charge. This is not a sign of battery degradation or a problem with the car, especially after just a month of ownership.
The claimed range of 400-450 km is under ideal test conditions. In real-world driving, it is perfectly normal to see 50-100 km less depending on how and where you drive. The fact that you saw the full range on your first charge and then less later simply means the car has adapted its prediction to your actual usage.
There is nothing to worry about here. Your Creta EV is behaving exactly as it should. If you want to maximise range, try driving more gently, using less AC and keeping speeds moderate. But overall, this is normal EV behaviour and not a cause for concern.

@autocar.india thanks for the reply team... Well to give more information... Claimed range is 510 KMS... But 400-420kms is what I was initially told by Hyundai showroom... And it did touch that much kms before first charge.... Right now before my second charge it's almost showing only 250-300 kms by the time it'll be over... So that's the confusion I'm into... No doubt in past few days I've driven bit fast but it wasn't much ... And even if it was done a bit but it shouldn't decrease so low .. literally showing 100 kms less than 400 average what it should give in city... Kindly answer this team.. it'll be helpful

My major running is within the city which sometimes include inter city drive. I have a fixed parking spot and charging station within the society. My requirements include a driver seat that should accomodate a 6 feet person. It should offer decent mileage with battery longevity. I am confused between Creta Electric and XUV 3XO EV.

For mostly city driving, with a dedicated parking spot and charging in your society, an EV makes sense. Between the Hyundai Creta Electric and Mahindra XUV 3XO EV, the deciding factors should be how comfortably the driver's seat accommodates your 6ft frame, the real world range you get in traffic and how well the battery is covered over the long term. The Hyundai Creta Electric Long Range is the better fit for you, particularly if you're 6ft tall and want an EV that can handle city driving as well as occasional intercity trips. The larger cabin should make it easier to find a comfortable driving position, and its bigger battery gives you more flexibility for longer journeys. The Creta Electric's 51.4kWh version returned around 406km in our real world range test. The XUV 3XO EV has a 39.4kWh battery and Mahindra quotes a real world range of up to 285km. The 3XO is easier on the budget, but you'll have less range in reserve for highway trips. For battery longevity, both offer an eight year or 1.6 lakh km battery and motor warranty, but long term degradation will depend on usage, charging and temperature. The Creta Electric is available with 42kWh and 51.4kWh battery packs, while the Mahindra XUV 3XO EV gets a 39.4kWh pack. Both use NMC battery chemistry, so neither has an inherent LFP battery longevity advantage. NMC batteries can last well with good thermal management and sensible charging habits, so chemistry alone shouldn't determine your choice.
