BYD India has announced that the Sealion 7 prices will increase at the start of 2026. The Sealion 7 SUV, launched here in February 2025, competes with entry-level electric luxury crossovers such as the BMW iX1 LWB, Tesla Model Y, Kia EV6, Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Volvo EC40, among others.

At the time of writing, the BYD Sealion 7 price starts at Rs 48.9 lakh for the base Premium variant and extends to Rs 54.9 lakh for the top-spec Performance variant. BYD has promised that these prices will be applicable for prospective Sealion 7 buyers who book the electric SUV on or before December 31, 2025.

Over 2,000 units of Sealion 7 have been sold in India so far

BYD will increase the prices for the Sealion 7 from January 1, 2026, though it has not yet revealed by how much. The Chinese EV maker also confirmed that it has sold over 2,000 units of the Sealion 7 in India.

82.56kWh battery with RWD and AWD options

The Sealion 7 comes equipped with an 82.56kWh LFP battery pack. In the Premium variant, it powers a rear-mounted motor developing 313hp and 380Nm, while the Sealion 7 Performance variant adds a motor to the front axle, forming an AWD layout and boosting output to 530hp and 690Nm. The claimed range stands at 482km and 456km for the Premium and Performance variants, respectively.
