BYD India has confirmed that the Sealion 7 will launch on February 17. Last seen at the Auto Expo 2025, the SUV is going to be the Chinese car brand’s most expensive offering in India. Upon launch, it will compete with the Kia EV6, which is due for a facelift soon

  1. Two Sealion 7 variants to be offered: Premium RWD and Performance AWD
  2. The Sealion 7 Performance goes from 0-100kph in 4.5 seconds

Other features include a head-up display (HUD), ventilated front seats, an electrically adjustable driver’s seat with memory function, a panoramic glass roof, ambient lights, 12 speakers, a wireless phone charger, powered tailgate and vehicle-to-load (V2L) for powering external devices via the car’s battery.

The Sealion 7 has 11 airbags and an ADAS suite with features like forward collision alert, blind spot detection and lane departure assist. It also has a 360-degree camera setup, ISOFIX child seat mounts, hill hold control and front and rear parking sensors.

The Sealion 7 draws design cues from BYD's Ocean X styling with X design motifs. It actually shares a lot of design cues with the Seal sedan, ranging from similar headlamps to the connected tail-lamp setup, with a more aggressive front and rear bumper design. As for wheel size options, it will be offered with 19-inch and 20-inch alloy wheels. BYD will offer the Sealion 7 in four colours: Cosmos Black, Atlantis Grey, Aurora White and Shark Grey.
