Renault has announced the ARAI-certified fuel-efficiency figure for the Duster Turbo TCe 100. The 1.0-litre turbo-petrol variants return a claimed 19.41kpl, making it the most fuel-efficient powertrain announced for the new Duster range so far.

The newly revealed figure is higher than the mileage claimed for the Duster’s 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine, which offers 17.75kpl with the 6-speed manual gearbox and 18.45kpl with the dual-clutch automatic transmission. The 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine is available in Authentic, Evolution and Techno trims, priced between Rs 10.49 lakh and Rs 13.49 lakh (ex-showroom).

Renault Duster Turbo TCe 100: Engine details

The Duster Turbo TCe 100 variants are powered by a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 100hp and 160Nm of torque. This mill is paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox, and Renault says it has been specifically calibrated for the Duster’s new RGMP platform.

The Duster Turbo TCe 100’s claimed fuel-efficiency figure of 19.41kpl places it close to other 1.0-litre turbo-petrol SUVs in the segment. The Volkswagen Taigun’s 1.0 TSI returns an ARAI-claimed 19.98kpl with the manual gearbox and 19.54kpl with the automatic. The Skoda Kushaq’s 1.0 TSI is rated at 19.66kpl for the manual and 19.09kpl for the automatic. Based on ARAI figures, the Duster sits between the Kushaq and Taigun in terms of claimed fuel efficiency.

The Duster is positioned in the midsize SUV segment and rivals models such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Volkswagen Taigun and Skoda Kushaq.
