The TVS Apache RTX 300 is a faster, more modern, feature-rich and capable machine than the Suzuki V-Strom SX. If you value performance and features, then the RTX is definitely the bike more likely to be up your alley. However, if most of your riding is in the city and you value a hassle-free, no-nonsense experience then the V-Strom will be the one that will appeal to you. While they sit in similiar price segments, the RTX and V-Strom aren't directly comparable and we'd advise you to take a test ride of both before you make your decision.

Considering your use case, we would advise choosing between the TVS Apache RTX 300 and the Hero Xpulse 210. The RTX is an adventure bike, which will make it great on the road, while the Xpulse is a dualsport, which will be more capable during serious off-roading. If you want a more road-biased machine, then the Honda CB350 H'ness (or either of its siblings), the Royal Enfield Classic / Bullet 350 and the TVS Ronin would make for a good option. Take a test ride of these machines to help decide which one is best for you.

Since you are a beginner, we'd suggest that you start with something a little less powerful and easier to manage. As you've mentioned that you have an interest in mild off-road riding, the Hero Xpulse 210 would be a great place to start. It is a fun bike to ride, very comfortable in the city, and it will be a good motorcycle for you to hone your off-road skills on. Once you've gained some confidence, you can look at bigger ADV motorcycles. But if your heart is set on one of the above two bikes that you mentioned, we'd recommend you try out the Apache RTX 300.

The Honda CB350 models are comfortable motorcycles with plush suspension and a neutral rider’s triangle, so any of them would be a safe choice. You can also consider the Royal Enfield Bullet 350 or Classic 350, as both offer an upright riding position, great suspension, and comfort.Coming to the TVS Apache RTX 300, this bike will be the most comfortable among all the suggested options because of its format. It will also pack in better performance than the air-cooled 350s if that's important to you.

Both bikes have good suspension and will be quite comfortable on broken roads you may traverse during your commute. The Xpulse 210 will, of course, have a lower performance ceiling compared to the larger Apache RTX 300. However, it will be more affordable to buy and maintain since it’s a simpler and smaller machine.Considering that the RTX is a brand-new product built on a new platform, we would recommend going with the Xpulse in case any teething issues emerge on the TVS.
