I am looking for a new motorcycle that offers good comfort and can be used for both city riding and occasional highway rides. I am a bit confused between the RE Hunter 350 and the TVS Ronin. My budget is Rs. 1.5-2.5 lakh.

Both the TVS Ronin and Royal Enfield Hunter 350 are excellent choices that are similarly capable in this price range, but both have different riding experiences. The Ronin feels lighter on its feet because it weighs quite a bit less than the Hunter, and while its styling is that of a relaxed retro, it actually has very nice handling. Its engine is also quick to spool up and makes a deep, bassy sound with a strong surge of mid-range torque to boot. On the other hand, the Hunter's long-stroke motor is more mellow and, in our opinion, more characterful too. The riding experience is dominated by the strong low- and mid-range torque here, and it's a pleasure to short-shift on the Hunter and listen to its thumpy beat of an exhaust note. While the Hunter is much heavier than the Ronin, you don't really feel it when you're on the move and darting through city trafic is a breeze on this RE. Take test rides of both, see which one tickles your fancy and then make your decision.

I used to own a Karizma R, and I currently ride a Honda Shine. I'm confused between the TVS Ronin and the Honda Rebel 300. My priorities are a lightweight motorcycle that's easy to commute on daily, while also being capable of occasional highway rides. If there's another motorcycle that suits my requirements better, kindly suggest. My budget is within Rs 2.5 lakh. Also, if I buy a petrol motorcycle instead of an EV, could that become a problem in the future?

Since you're considering the TVS Ronin and the upcoming Honda Rebel 300, we advise you to consider the Honda CB350 range and the Royal Enfield Hunter 350. The Ronin and the air-cooled 350cc motorcycles offer a similar character, with laidback performance and relaxed handling. The Rebel 300, on the other hand, is expected to feel more refined and deliver stronger performance. It would be sensible to wait a few months for the Honda Rebel 300 to launch officially. Take a test ride and compare it with the other options before you go ahead with your purchase.

I’m looking for a bike around 1.8 to 2.8 L with very good suspension for back pain. My driving every day will be 1 hr to 1.5 hr one way, which is 2-3 hrs in total. 60% high way and 40% city, with lots of school traffic. I just moved from the US, and these roads are giving me back pain. I’m looking for more comfort with seats, suspension and ride posture.

Moving up from a Pulsar 150, you should check out the 350cc Bajaj Dominar 400, which will feel more substantial and comfortable, not to mention head and shoulders above when it comes to performance. Since your ride has a lot of highway stretches, a machine that can cruise comfortably at higher speeds while keeping you comfortable will be a good bet.If you want to look at the adventure bike space, consider the Hero Xpulse 210 and TVS Apache RTX 300. The Xpulse is lighter, which will make it easier to manage at slower speeds, and its smaller engine will also be more fuel efficient. On the other hand, the RTX has a more powerful engine capable of delivering more performance and its seating comfort is better than the Xpulse. Do bear in mind that both of these are tall bikes and will require some skill to manage if you're a shorter person. If, instead, you want a neo-retro machine, then consider proven options like the Honda CB350 models and Royal Enfield Classic / Bullet 350. These are relaxed and comfortable machines with torquey engines, which will be suitable for long commutes. When ridden sensibly, they also return good fuel economy. These bikes are all very different from one another, and to accurately gauge which is the best one for you, take a test ride of all before you make your decision.

I am looking for a new motorcycle which have Good comfort & can be used for city as well as occasional Highway drives I am a bit confused between the RE Hunter 350 or TVS Ronin My budget is 1.5- 2 lakhs

Honestly, both bikes are great at their job and will suit your needs well, but they offer very different experiences. The Hunter 350 is a very different Royal Enfield from what we've seen before, but carries some signature strengths like plush ride quality, a characterful and torquey engine, as well as great curb appeal and good finish levels. Plus, when you buy a RE, you get access to a brand which has built a very good community and ownership experience in terms of events and rides, which is something few brands in India offer you today.Do bear in mind that the Hunter is a heavy machine, and this is just something you will have to work around. It's not as heavy as other Royal Enfields, but it is a good 20 kilos heavier than the TVS Ronin.Coming to the Ronin, this is a lighter, more agile and eager-feeling machine than the Hunter. It isn't overtly sporty and will be comfortable for daily use. The Ronin's lighter weight and smaller engine also translate to better fuel economy in general. The TVS is also the more affordable machine to purchase, and the price difference isn't insignificant. If you are on a tight budget, this is something to consider. Both bikes have a very different feel despite being similar on paper, and to make an informed decision before your next purchase, take a test ride of both.

I want to buy a bike within a budget of ₹2 lakh on-road. I will mainly use it for daily commuting in Mumbai, with a daily running of around 50 km, so decent mileage is important. The bike should also be comfortable for long rides, especially for the pillion. Can you suggest the best possible bike in this price range?

Look at bikes like the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, Bajaj Pulsar N160, Honda Unicorn or Honda SP160 for your usage. They are reliable, comfortable, fuel efficient and low maintenance machines that should fit well within your budget. If you want a more premium product, then options like the TVS Ronin and RE Hunter 350 are to be considered. And if you're open to considering a dual purpose bike, the Hero Xpulse 210 is a fantastic option for commuting with its peppy engine, long travel suspension and flat, comfortable seat. First, decide what sort of bike would fit your usage best, take exhaustive test rides of each and then make your decision.
