KTM RC 200
The KTM RC 200 is a fully faired sports motorcycle designed for riders who want a track-inspired riding experience with the option of using it on public roads. It is powered by a 199.5cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine producing 25hp and 19.2Nm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. The motorcycle gets a steel trellis frame, full LED lighting, a 5-inch TFT instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation, and backlit switchgear. Its braking equipment includes disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS and a Supermoto mode that allows the rear ABS to be switched off.
The RC 200's strongest appeal is its combination of performance, handling hardware and track-inspired design. Its 43mm WP Apex USD front fork and 10-step adjustable WP Apex rear monoshock are designed for sporty riding, while the 320mm front and 230mm rear disc brakes provide braking support. The 835mm seat height and forward-leaning riding position, however, can make it less comfortable for shorter riders and during extended city commutes. Its 13.7-litre fuel tank and ARAI-certified mileage of 43.5kpl give it some touring ability, although real-world efficiency will depend on riding conditions and throttle use.
Who should buy the KTM RC 200?
The specifications and our riding impressions point to a few buyer types this motorcycle suits best.
Buyer type | Why it fits |
Sports Bike Buyer | The fully faired design, 199.5cc engine producing 25hp and 19.2Nm, and 6-speed gearbox make the RC 200 suitable for riders looking for a sporty motorcycle. |
Track-Day Enthusiast | The 43mm WP Apex USD fork, adjustable rear monoshock, dual-channel ABS with Supermoto mode and sporty riding position make it better suited to riders who enjoy occasional track sessions. |
Experienced City Rider | The 160kg kerb weight and 835mm seat height are worth considering. Its forward-leaning riding position can become tiring in heavy traffic, particularly on longer commutes. |
Performance Buyer | The liquid-cooled engine produces 25hp at 10,000rpm and 19.2Nm at 8,000rpm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox, giving performance-focused buyers a more engaging alternative to regular commuters. |
Tech Buyer | The 5-inch TFT instrument cluster, Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, backlit switchgear and Supermoto ABS mode provide useful electronic equipment. |
Riders who prioritise an upright riding position, low seat height and everyday comfort may find the RC 200 less suitable. Its sporty ergonomics can be tiring in stop-and-go traffic, while its 835mm seat height can make it difficult for shorter riders to get both feet firmly on the ground.

KTM RC 200 Mileage
KTM RC 200 mileage is certified by ARAI at 43.5kpl, a figure that gives the motorcycle reasonable fuel efficiency for a performance-oriented 200cc sports bike. Our mileage data shows a user-reported figure of 34.62kpl, although actual fuel efficiency can vary with riding style, traffic and road conditions. The motorcycle gets a 13.7-litre fuel tank.
Both variants use the same 199.5cc engine, so there is no variant-wise difference in claimed mileage. KTM RC 200 FAQs
The RC 200 has a sporty, forward-leaning riding position with low handlebars and rear-set foot pegs. It is manageable for short city rides, but it is not as comfortable as a commuter bike for long hours in stop-and-go traffic.
KTM 200 RC has linear throttle response which makes it easier to control by beginners. However it has an aggressive and forward-leaning riding posture that may require experience in handling the bike.
KTM RC 200 suspension can absorb small potholes and uneven surfaces, but its sporty suspension setup and aggressive riding position mean rough roads can feel harsher than they would on a commuter or adventure motorcycle.
