Royal Enfield 450 Upcoming teaser image

Royal Enfield has teased a bike on their Instagram page, giving us a glimpse at what appears to be a Himalayan 450 riding through the mountains. We can expect this to be a more off-road-focused version of the bike.

  1. Expected to get a rally kit, spoked wheels and longer travel suspension
  2. Will be mechanically unchanged; may come in new colour schemes

Expected specifications of the off-road-focused Himalayan 450

The bike is likely to get significant upgrades over the current model.

The motorcycle is expected to receive the entire rally kit, which includes a taller, flat, single-piece seat, redesigned rear panels and tail section, a touring windscreen, an aluminium bash plate and engine guards. Additionally, Royal Enfield might even kit out the bike with a longer-travel, fully adjustable suspension. Keeping off-road abilities in mind, this version should also come with tubeless-spoked wheels as standard.

Mechanically, the bike will be the same, using the 452cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that produces 40.02hp and 40Nm of peak torque. In terms of design, apart from the rally-kit panels, Royal Enfield might offer new colour schemes.

The bike will officially be unveiled tomorrow, November 4, at EICMA in Milan. We can expect it to be showcased at Motoverse, which is going to take place from November 21 to 23. Currently, the Himalayan 450 is priced between Rs 3.06 lakh and Rs 3.20 lakh (ex-showroom, Chennai), and the new model will likely command a premium over this.
