The Gen 1 Octavia RS landed in 2004 as the first turbo-petrol car to be offered in India.

Under the hood, this Octavia RS came with a 152hp engine mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The second-gen Octavia was sold as the Laura in India, and its sporty RS version went on sale here in 2011.

The Laura RS was powered by the same 160hp, 1.8-litre TSI engine as the standard model, but got a sportier body kit and stiffer suspension.

The facelifted third-gen Octavia received two RS versions in India, with the first being 2017's RS 230.

The Octavia RS 230 came with a 230hp, 2.0-litre TSI engine and 6-speed dual-clutch automatic.

At Auto Expo 2020, Skoda launched the Octavia RS 245; only 200 units were allocated for India.

At 245hp, the Octavia RS 245 was 15hp stronger than the RS 230, and it had a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic too.

2025 finally saw the India launch of the latest-gen Octavia RS, which is based on the sedan's 2024 facelift.

Developing 265hp from its 2.0-litre TSI engine, this is the most powerful Octavia RS to date.
