Highest mileage 7 seat cars in India as per ARAI

Those looking to bring home a 7-seat petrol car have plenty of options to choose from. For such buyers, space, comfort, practicality and fuel efficiency are major considerations. Keeping fuel efficiency in mind, we've listed five 7-seat petrol cars that claim the highest ARAI mileage figures.

Hyundai Alcazar

ARAI mileage: Up to 18kpl

5 highest mileage petrol 7-seat cars as rated by ARAI

As the most powerful 7-seater on this list, the Hyundai Alcazar is powered by a 160hp 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine (the only turbocharged option here), which is paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. In turbo-petrol MT spec, the Alcazar boasts an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 17.5kpl, while the DCT version manages 18kpl. Be that as it may, turbo-petrol engines are very sensitive to throttle inputs, so real-world fuel efficiency may see larger dips if you drive with a heavier foot.

As the platform sibling to the Triber, the sub-4m Nissan Gravite uses a 72hp 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, along with 5-speed manual and AMT options, but claims slightly lower ARAI mileage figures. The Gravite MT is rated at 19.3kpl, while the AMT claims 19.6kpl. Interestingly, thanks to its starting price of Rs 5.73 lakh, the Gravite is the cheapest 7-seat car currently on sale in India.

In terms of ARAI-certified fuel efficiency, the Triber AMT stands at 19.59kpl, whereas the MT is rated at 19.75kpl. The Triber is the only other compact MPV on sale in India other than the Gravite.
