Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara FAQs

The Maruti Grand Vitara’s starting price of Rs 10.77 lakh makes it more affordable than popular models like the Hyundai Creta, Tata Sierra, Honda Elevate and Kia Seltos. Its top-end price of Rs 19.62 lakh is more affordable than the Creta, Seltos, Sierra, Hyryder and Victoris.

The Maruti Grand Vitara is a well-rounded SUV with a modern exterior and interior design, a decent feature suite with likeable comfort and convenience features, and two engine options, one with an AWD setup and another being a fuel-efficient hybrid mill, currently exclusive to Maruti-Toyota models. At its price, while it lacks a bit on engine performance, it still offers a lot of value.

The Grand Vitara hybrid is around Rs 2.9 lakh more expensive than equivalent petrol variants.

The Grand Vitara CNG is Rs 90,000 pricier than the equivalent petrol variant.

I have a budget of Rs. 10-11 lakh, and my monthly running is on the lower side. Which car would be the best choice for me? I am confused between the Mahindra XUV 3XO RevX M(O), Maruti Suzuki Brezza VXi, and the base variants of the Maruti Suzuki Victoris and Grand Vitara. I prefer cars with good interiors. Which car should I go for?

Go for the Mahindra XUV 3XO Rev X M(O). With low monthly running, petrol is the right choice, and the 3XO offers the most complete package in your budget. It has the most spacious cabin of the three, a nice premium interior feel and a strong feature set even in the M(O) variant. The Brezza VXi is also an option and the more sensible one in terms of long-term ownership experience. The Victoris and Grand Vitara base models are solid cars, but the base variants feel sparse, and you miss out on the features that make them feel premium. The 3XO also has a strong safety rating and a wide cabin, making it a genuinely comfortable five-seater. The only real drawback is that the boot is on the smaller side, but overall it is the best balance of interior quality, space and features in your budget.

Test drove the Grand Vitara strong hybrid yesterday and honestly wasn't expecting the low speed EV mode to feel this smooth. Anyone else surprised by it the first time?

@gp58z0c5 Go for Grand Vitara because it's very comfortable, reliable, low maintenance, good looking and better mileage. I am using it for last 3 years and it feels like new even after 3 years. So, go for it.

I want to buy a family use car under 15 lakh. I am confused between Tata Sierra and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.

Go for the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara. It is the more sensible family car and will give you a better long-term ownership experience. The Grand Vitara is a proven product with a comfortable ride, good real world fuel efficiency and Maruti’s strong service network, which makes it a very easy car to live with. It is also a well-rounded family SUV with enough space for five, a decent boot and a good balance between city and highway use.The Tata Sierra is a more interesting product with a more premium cabin and a more distinctive design, but it is a newer car with a shorter ownership track record and Tata’s service experience is still not as consistent as Maruti’s. For a family car under Rs.15 lakh, the Grand Vitara is the safer and more sensible choice.

I own a 2021 Maruti Brezza (petrol), which is not E20 compatible, and I am getting low mileage. Now I'm looking for a new car and am confused between the following options: Kia Seltos HTE(O) IVT, Hyundai Creta EX CVT, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara Zeta(O), and Skoda Kushaq (TC) I have seen a few posts and videos suggesting that the new Creta and Grand Vitara will be launched in the coming months. Should I wait for the new launches to get the best car? Kindly suggest, as having multiple options is creating a lot of confusion.

While your concerns are valid, do note that all cars will see a mileage drop running on E20 petrol; it's just that E10 compliant cars like your 2021 Maruti Suzuki Brezza will see a relatively higher impact due to the engine not being calibrated for the fuel. As for which car to pick, since mileage is your maximum priority, we recommend the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara Zeta (O). It remains the mileage king in its segment, and even when you factor in the efficiency drop, it will do better than the others you have shortlisted. Bear in mind, however, that it uses the same 1.5-litre petrol engine as your Brezza, so in terms of powertrain, it won't feel like much of an upgrade on that front. As for the new launches, the Grand Vitara may get a minor facelift later this year, but it will not really impact the overall ownership experience (or mileage), so we recommend going ahead and buying it now. The next-gen Hyundai Creta is not due until sometime in 2027.
