Kia Carens price in East Khasi Hills

₹12.35 - ₹14.43 Lakh
On road price in
EMI starting at ₹17,859 /month

Kia builds the Carens with a 6-speed manual only. There is no automatic anywhere in the range, so the real choice is petrol against diesel, not manual against automatic. What that choice costs changes from city to city, once statutory charges are added to the ex-showroom price. In East Khasi Hills, the base variant, Premium (O) Petrol MT, costs Rs. 11.02 lakh ex-showroom for September 2026. That becomes Rs. 12.35 lakh on-road once RTO registration, insurance and other charges are added.

  • Base variant, Premium (O) Petrol MT: Rs. 12.35 lakh on-road in East Khasi Hills

  • Premium (O) Diesel MT, the top model in the range, brings the torquier diesel engine: Rs. 14.43 lakh on-road

  • The 6-speed manual is the only gearbox in the Carens range. Kia lists no automatic variant, so fuel type and running costs decide the spend, not the gearbox

  • Our Autocar India value pick is the Premium (O) Petrol MT. Even this base model gets stability control, a fully digital cluster and phone-based navigation. The diesel top variant is worth it mainly if you need the extra pulling power

The EMI on the base model, Premium (O) Petrol MT, is Rs. 17,859 against a loan of Rs. 11,10,000. That is a useful reference before you decide whether the diesel’s extra pulling power is worth its premium. With only two variants on sale in East Khasi Hills, this is less about hunting trims and more a straight petrol-versus-diesel call, based on how you will use the car.

Took the whole extended family, nine people across two trips, in the Carens for a wedding last weekend, and the third row held up fine even on the return late at night.

Hi, I am planning to buy the Kia Carens Premium Optional petrol variant. The dealer has offered me a final price of Rs 13.5 lakh, including insurance, extended warranty, accessories and registration. Is this quote worth considering, or should I negotiate further? Please help.

The Kia Carens Premium Optional Petrol at Rs 13.5 lakh on-road, including insurance, extended warranty, accessories and registration, is a fair deal. The Carens is one of the most spacious and practical 7-seaters in the segment, with a comfortable ride and a well-balanced petrol engine that is well suited to family use. The Premium Optional variant also gets the essentials you need without pushing the price too high. The only thing to check is what accessories are included and whether they are genuinely useful to you, as dealers sometimes bundle in items you may not need. Overall, if the car suits your requirements, this is a reasonable price and worth going ahead with.

I am planning to buy my first car and am considering Kia Seltos base model, but I have a concern. I am 6'1" and my son is 6'3". Should I skip Seltos and consider Carens base model as it is more flexible and value for money. I need the car primarily for highway use but I might use it for travelling locally as well. However, I am not sure whether it should be my first car.

Considering your height, the Kia Carens is the better choice. Rear-seat headroom and legroom will matter far more than features and, while the Seltos is a very good car, it isn’t as roomy or as flexible as the Carens.Since your usage is primarily highway driving with some city use, the Carens makes sense from a comfort perspective. You and your family will be spending long hours in the vehicle, and the extra room to stretch out will be appreciated. It rides well, is stable at speed and offers the flexibility of occasional third-row use or extra luggage space when needed. As a first car, its size is more manageable than you might think, and it is quite easy to drive in the city. One thing to keep in mind is that the Carens is now only available in a single Premium (O) trim. It has the basics covered, but it does look and feel a bit dated compared to the Carens Clavis. Overall, the Carens is a sensible and value-for-money choice for your requirements and a better fit for your family than the Seltos.

Doing a Mumbai to Goa drive next month with 3 people and a fair bit of luggage. Deciding between an XL6 and a Carens, which one would actually handle it better.

Hi Autocar Team, I am confused between the Kia Carens and Carens Clavis. Please suggest which would be the better choice in this segment, with a budget of under Rs. 17 lakh.

The Kia Carens Clavis is essentially a more modern, updated and better-equipped version of the Carens. Also, with the Clavis, you have a lot more options as far as variants and powertrain options go. The Carens is essentially a more affordable, stripped-down pre-updated version of the Clavis, and while it offers good value, it does not feel as premium as the Clavis. We would have recommended the Kia Carens had you been on a really tight budget, because both Clavis and Carens are the same car underneath the skin. They both share their 1.5 NA Petrol and Diesel engines; both are identical as far as cabin space and comfort go, and the service experience and costs are likely to be identical as well. However, since you have a healthy Rs 17 lakh budget, we'd advise you to get a well-equipped variant of the Clavis instead.
