My budget is around โน24 to 26 lakh, and I am confused between the Hyundai Creta and the new Tata Sierra.
Between the two, considering your budget, we would suggest going for the new Tata Sierra over the Creta.
The Hyundai Creta is still a competitive product, but the Sierra has moved the game forward. It is larger on the outside, more spacious inside, and comes equipped with premium features, including a triple-screen layout and a powered tailgate. In turbo petrol automatic form, the Sierra is well matched to Hyundaiโs turbo petrol DCT and, in fact, feels smoother at city speeds thanks to its torque converter gearbox. It also feels more confident at higher speeds, and combined with the roomier and more comfortable cabin, makes for a better long-distance car.
That said, if you are looking at a diesel, the Hyundai diesel engine is more refined of the two. Similarly, in the case of naturally aspirated petrol engines, there is no real competition. Hyundaiโs 1.5-litre NA petrol is superior on all counts, and its CVT automatic is smoother than Tataโs dual clutch transmission.
One reason to be cautious about the Creta is that it is expected to be replaced early next year, which means it could start to feel dated sooner.
Another car you should definitely consider is the new Kia Seltos. It carries over the Cretaโs strengths thanks to shared powertrains, but builds on them by being a newer generation car. It is larger than the Creta, even longer than the Sierra, offers more space than the Creta, has the most premium interiors of the three, and also undercuts the Sierra by over Rs 1 lakh, making it a very strong value

I am planning to buy an SUV in the โน15 to 18 lakh range in petrol version and am confused between the Skoda Kushaq, Maruti Victoris, and Hyundai Creta.
All three SUVs have a different character, and it depends on your preference. If you enjoy driving and want strong performance with good dynamics, the Skoda Kushaq is a very good option. It has been recently updated with more features and is the most powerful SUV in comparison to these two with a 1,5-litre TSI engine with 150hp.
The Maruti Suzuki Victoris is a sedated and relaxed SUV that offers a calm driving experience and is the least powerful option here. What it loses in performance, it gains in efficiency. Compared to the Kushaq and Creta, you can expect a much better fuel economy with the Victoris. However, the rear seat isnโt all too comfortable with a short seat base and firm cushioning. It also misses out on features in comparison to the other SUVs and isnโt all that appealing.
The Creta has established its dominance by proving itself as a well-rounded SUV in every area. Yes, it does not have the power of the Kushaq, but it has plenty to hold its own and a strong set of features that are usable. Moreover, the Creta commands a premium in the after-sales department, and that adds overall value to the purchase.

Iโm planning to buy a new car in the subcompact SUV segment. My usage is quite low, and I prefer an automatic transmission. My budget is between 15 and 20 lakh. The car will mainly be used as a family vehicle for driving within Mumbai city, with occasional highway trips once every couple of months. Iโm considering the Hyundai Creta S(O) Petrol IVT, for which Iโm getting a discount of โน80,000. Do you think this is a good deal, or should I consider other options?
The Hyundai Creta S O 1.5 IVT is a great option in the midsize SUV segment. The petrol engine is smooth and refined, and the automatic gearbox is well-suited to city driving. The Creta also offers a spacious and comfortable cabin, and the feature list is quite comprehensive. The discount you are getting makes it an even more attractive proposition.
Being a new launch, the Kia Seltos won't be available with any discounts, but we'll still recommend you to consider the new Kia Seltos, which is essentially powered by the same 1.5 petrol-automatic combination as the Creta, but it feels a lot more modern in comparison. Its suspension also feels more comfortable than the Hyundai's. The HTX IVT will fall within your Rs 20 lakh budget.

I am planning to buy an automatic SUV with a budget of โน25 lakh and am confused between the Hyundai Creta DCT and Kia Seltos GTX Plus DCT. My usage will be mostly on highways with occasional city driving. Which one should I choose?
While both are compelling options, we would recommend the Kia Seltos, as it is simply the newer of the two, which brings several advantages. The new K3 platform is more advanced, with the latest electronic architecture that delivers more modern tech with better software and hardware.
It's also a larger vehicle, offering more space inside the cabin, and has better ride quality than the Creta. There will be a new-gen Creta that will likely be built on this new platform, but it will not arrive before 2027. Until then, at least, the Seltos is the better option, using the same 160hp, 1.5 turbo-petrol engine and 7-speed DCT gearbox.
However, since your usage is mostly on the highway, we recommend trying the smooth and more efficient diesel automatic version as well.

Hi Team. I need your advice on whether the Thar Roxx would be suitable for my usage. I am currently driving a 2015 Hyundai i10 manual and am planning to change it. About 90% of my driving is within the city, with a monthly running of around 1,000 km. The car is mainly used for home-to-office commutes, weekend city trips, and once-a-month highway drives. Now that the Roxx Star Edition has been launched, I am interested in it. Please suggest whether it is suitable for me. If yes, should I choose petrol or diesel? I prefer an automatic, but that will exceed my budget. I have a budget constraint of around โน17 lakh on-road with a BH number. Please suggest other suitable options if the Thar Roxx is not ideal.
The Mahindra Thar Roxx is the most refined, sophisticated, and easy-to-drive ladder-frame SUV Mahindra has made yet, and its intention is to rival more conventional midsize SUVs like the Hyundai Creta.
However, some shortcomings of a ladder-frame SUV still remain. It is a large SUV whose boxy dimensions aren't ideal for the city, and its ride comfort is not as good as that of a conventional midsize SUV with a lot of movement inside the cabin. And its engines - both petrol and diesel - while powerful and relatively smooth, return very poor mileage, which will be a huge contrast after your 2015 Hyundai i10 manual. Still, it is a very appealing SUV, especially on the looks front, and it offers all the modern features you could want too, so if you are willing to put up with these shortcomings, you can check it out.
Do note, however, that the Roxx Star Edition will be outside your budget of Rs 17 lakh, even for the manual version. Otherwise, we would recommend waiting for the new Renault Duster to be launched in March 2026; it will offer similar tough appeal at a possibly more affordable price.

I am confused between the new Seltos HTK O and the Creta S(O). Which one should I buy? My daily running is around 35 km, and I often go on long drives of up to 300 km. Please advise.
The Kia Seltos HTK O is a great option. It is more spacious and comfortable than a Hyundai Creta, and its ride comfort too is noticeably better than the Hyundai's. Both cars are powered by the same 1.5-litre petrol engine, that's smooth and refined, and both cars are available with either a 6-speed manual or IVT (automatic). Between the two, we'd pick the Seltos, which is newer and a bit more comfortable.

You could consider getting a pre-owned petrol-automatic midsize SUV, such as the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, or Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. These are sensible and reliable options, and you can find plenty of 2-3 year-old examples that'll fall into your Rs 10-12 lakh budget. You could consider trusted used car platforms such as Spinny, where vehicles are thoroughly inspected and are backed by a warranty, too.

The choice between the two comes down to what you would like in your new car. The Skoda Kushaq's 1.0 TSI engine is peppy enough, and the ride and handling balance is good. It's the one to opt for if a fun-to-drive character and safety are your priorities.
The Hyundai Creta, on the other hand, is more of an all-rounder and the better of the two when it comes to interior space. The 1.5-litre petrol engine is smooth, the ride quality is good, and the drive character is more laidback and relaxed. Thus, pick this one if it's just a no-nonsense family car that you are looking for.

I am looking to purchase a new mid-SUV with a budget of around โน15 lakh, preferably automatic. I am not very keen on tech features. Is the Honda Elevate a good choice, or should I consider the Mahindra XUV 3XO REVX, AX5, or AX7? Please advise.
Between the two, Honda Elevate is a better bet because of its very reliable engine and larger cabin. Honda dealers are offering some good discounts on the Elevate, so you can negotiate a good price for yourself.
Elevate has a very spacious cabin, but the cabin quality is not as premium as other products in the segment. If you are open to other choices, we suggest you check out the Kia Seltos 1.5 Petrol IVT and the Hyundai Creta 1.5 Petrol IVT. These offer a much better overall cabin experience.

You can consider the Kia Seltos or the Hyundai Creta. Both offer similar powertrain choices, but the Seltos is the newer SUV with a fresher-looking interior. The design is a bit polarising and bold, but if you don't mind that, then the Seltos has the upper hand when it comes to the feel-good factor. The Seltos with the GTX (A) trim is worth checking out as it has a sportier look compared to the Creta in its top-spec guise.
