The 2026 Tata Tigor facelift will debut as Aeris on September 25, the carmaker has confirmed. It also released the first teaser video of the new sedan, showcasing some of its exterior features. More details about the Tata Aeris are expected to be revealed in the run-up to its debut later this week.
Tata Aeris teaser details
Compared to the Tigor, Aeris' front fascia appears to be sleeker; it gets slim LED headlights with a thin DRL strip above them. The teaser also reveals LED fog lamps, which the Tigor does not offer. Other details include redesigned tail-lights, traditional pull-type door handles and a new purple exterior shade.
Going by the design patent images of the Aeris from earlier, its rear bumper features reflectors on both sides. The images also reveal a notchback-style tapering roofline similar to the Tigor. The design for the wheels is new and they may measure 15 inches, just like the current sedan. Despite being a facelift, the Aeris will feature sheet metal changes. The Tigor EV is expected to have a similar design to the ICE version, albeit with some EV-specific design tweaks.
The teaser did not reveal any details of the upcoming sedan's interior.
Tata Aeris expected powertrains
The Aeris may carry over the Tigor's powertrain choices: 1.2-litre petrol and petrol-CNG, both of which are available with a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT. Meanwhile, the Aeris EV may carry over the Tigor EV's 19.2kWh and 24kWh battery options.
Prices are expected to be slightly revised with this facelift. At the time of writing, the Tata Tigor is priced from Rs 5.55 lakh to Rs 8.84 lakh, while the Tigor EV is priced from Rs 12.49 lakh to Rs 13.75 lakh (both ex-showroom prices). Like the electric Tiago, the Aeris EV could also be offered with a battery-as-a-subscription (BaaS) scheme option for a lower upfront price.
