Skoda has introduced the more powerful 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine in the Ambition variants of the Kushaq and Slavia. Prices for the Kushaq Ambition 1.5 start from Rs 14.99 lakh, while the Slavia Ambition 1.5 is priced from Rs 14.94 lakh (ex-showroom). This engine was earlier available only on the top-spec Style variants of the Kushaq and Slavia, and introducing it in the mid variant helps attract buyers looking for a more powerful engine.

Skoda Kushaq, Ambition 1.5 petrol: how does it compare with 1.0 Ambition?

The 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine delivers 150hp and 250Nm of torque, which is 34hp and 72Nm more than the 1.0-litre iteration. Customers can choose from either a six-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox to go with this engine option. The 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine also gets cylinder deactivation, where two cylinders are completely shut down in the interest of fuel efficiency.

The Kushaq Ambition 1.5 MT is priced from Rs 14.99 lakh, which is Rs 1.8 lakh more than the Kushaq Ambition 1.0-litre MT (Rs 13.19 lakh). The automatic gearbox-equipped variant costs Rs 16.79 lakh, which is Rs 1.8 lakh more than the Kushaq Ambition 1.0 AT. Skoda has also introduced the Kushaq 1.5 TSI Ambition dual-tone that's priced at Rs 16.84 lakh.

Additionally, Skoda also launched the Kushaq Onyx edition in India recently. Click here to read more on that.
