    • Comes with a 1.0-litre engine with two power outputs

The Magnite first went on sale in December 2020 and since its launch, the SUV has been instrumental in getting more and more footfalls at Nissan showrooms, thanks to its aggressive starting price of Rs 4.99 lakh at launch. The SUV is available with either a 1.0-litre NA petrol engine good for 72hp, or a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine that churns out 100hp. Gearbox choices include a 5-speed manual for both engine options and a CVT option for the petrol automatic.

The Renault-Nissan alliance's plant at Oragadam is the mother plant for Magnite, along with its Renault sibling, the Kiger, for India as well as export markets. Waiting periods for the Magnite have been steadily on the rise and currently stand at around four months for some variants, depending on availability.

Nissan India says the SUV has gathered more than one lakh bookings globally. To add to its safety credentials, the Magnite also has a four-star Global NCAP rating and comes with a decent feature list.

    Three-row Magnite in the works

As we reported recently, Nissan is readying a three-row version of the Mangnite SUV. The model will be built alongside the standard Magnite in India; it will be sold locally and is also expected to go on sale in markets like Indonesia where three-row SUVs and hatchbacks are quite popular.
