The Maruti Suzuki Victoris has scored 5 stars in Global NCAP crash testing. This comes not long after the Victoris secured a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating, bolstering the new Maruti Suzuki SUV’s safety credentials. The Victoris racked up an impressive Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) score of 33.72 out of 34 and a Child Occupant Protection (COP) score of 41 out of 49.

In the Victoris’ frontal offset deformable barrier test, protection of the driver’s head, neck, pelvis, thighs, left tibia and feet was rated ‘good’, while for the chest and right tibia, it was ‘adequate’. For the co-driver, protection of the head, neck, chest, pelvis, thighs and tibias received a uniform ‘good’ rating.

For the side pole impact test, all parts of the driver were granted a ‘good’ score, thereby securing an ‘OK’. This held true for the side movable deformable barrier test, aside from an ‘adequate’ rating for chest protection. Notably, frontal bodyshell integrity for the Victoris was rated ‘stable’.

The Victoris scored a full dynamic score of 24 when using the child restraint system. For both the 18-month-old and 3-year-old child dummies’ side protection, the midsize SUV was granted a dynamic score of 4 out of 4. The frontal protection to the 18-month-old and 3-year-old dummies stood at 8 out of 8.

As standard, the Victoris is equipped with six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), hill hold assist, ISOFIX child seat anchor points, 3-point seatbelts with reminders for all occupants, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, traction control, overspeed alerts, and more. Higher variants of the Victoris even offer a 360-degree camera, an electronic parking brake with auto hold and Level 2 ADAS.

The Victoris already ranked among the top five highest-rated cars in BNCAP testing, and now with a 5-star Global NCAP score to boot, it’s undoubtedly one of the safest options in the midsize SUV segment.
