Maruti Fronx flex-fuel Japan Mobility Show

Maruti Suzuki has revealed the list of models it will be showcasing at the upcoming Japan Mobility Show 2025, one of which will be the Maruti Suzuki Fronx flex-fuel concept. It is expected to be powered by a tweaked version of the current 1.2-litre petrol engine to support up to 85 percent ethanol blending.

Maruti Suzuki Fronx flex-fuel concept details

Fronx flex-fuel concept powertrain.

Suzuki is yet to reveal full details of the Fronx's flex-fuel powertrain, but what is known is that the crossover will get a tweaked version of the 1.2-litre petrol engine (same as the Wagon R flex-fuel concept), which will be compliant with petrol up to E85.

Not just this, but Suzuki will also be investing heavily in Compressed Biomethane Gas (CBG) tech and BEV, which will assist its carbon neutrality goals.

Fronx flex-fuel concept design changes.

Suzuki has made no changes on the design front in the Fronx flex-fuel that it will display at the upcoming Japan Mobility Show. However, to differentiate it from the regular model, the carmaker has added certain ‘flex-fuel’ decals on the exterior of the concept. That being said, Suzuki could equip the production-spec model with a flex-fuel badge on the tailgate, similar to what it does with the other mild-hybrid and full-hybrid models in its portfolio.

Suzuki at Japan Mobility Show 2025

The Japan Mobility Show is a biennial auto show, which will be held from October 30 to November 9 this year at Tokyo Big Sight in Odaiba. At the auto show, Suzuki will be also showcasing the upcoming e Vitara, facelifted X-Bee, Jimny Nomade (5-seater made-in-India Jimny), Spacia, Vision e-Sky BEV concept and the e-Every commercial van concept, alongside the Fronx flex-fuel concept. The recently launched Maruti Suzuki Victoris will also be presented in its CBG and CNG-powered avatars at the auto show.
