Maruti Fronx Delta+ (O): what’s new?

Maruti Fronx new variants
Variant
Ex-showroom price
Delta+ (O) MT
Rs 8.93 lakh
Delta+ (O) AMT
Rs 9.43 lakh

The Delta+ (O) variant sits between the Delta+ and Zeta variants, but it misses out on the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine. The Delta+ (O) variant gets a total of six airbags as opposed to the dual frontal airbags seen on the Delta+ variant, making it the most affordable variant be offered with six airbags.

Apart from the additional side and curtain airbags, no other changes have been made to the new variant. The Delta+ (O) variant costs Rs 15,000 more than the corresponding Delta+ variants with dual airbags, and despite the introduction of this new variant, the Fronx isn't a part of our 10 most affordable cars and SUVs in India with six airbags list.

Maruti Fronx: powertrain, price, rivals

The Fronx can be had with either a 1.2-litre petrol or a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine. The petrol makes 90hp and 113Nm and is also available with a CNG option, while the turbo produces 100hp and 148Nm. Transmission options include a 5-speed MT as standard, a 5-speed AMT for the petrol engine and a 6-speed torque converter for the turbo-petrol unit.

The Maruti Fronx continues to be priced between Rs 7.51 lakh-12.88 lakh, and rivals the Toyota Taisor, the recently launched Mahindra XUV 3XO, Tata Nexon and Kia Sonet, among other compact SUVs.
