Maruti Suzuki has introduced a special edition version of the Brezza compact SUV called the Urbano Edition. The new model is priced from Rs 8.49 lakh onwards, and essentially clubs a range of accessories at a discounted price.

  1. Brezza Urbano Edition available with both petrol, CNG trims
  2. Adds touchscreen, rear camera, speakers on entry-, mid-variants

Maruti Brezza Urbano Edition: what’s new?

The Urbano Edition has been introduced on the entry-level LXi and mid-level VXi variants to improve their equipment list. In the Brezza LXi, the Urbano Edition adds a rear parking camera, a touchscreen, speakers, front fog lamp kit, fog lamp garnish, front and rear skid plates, front grille chrome garnish, body side moulding and a wheel arch kit. These accessories cost Rs 52,370 when purchased standalone, and Rs 42,000 if bought as a kit. However, with the Urbano Edition package, it costs only Rs 15,000 on the LXi variant.

When paired with the VXi variant, the Urbano Edition adds a rear camera, fog lamps, a special dashboard trim, body side moulding, wheel arch kit, metal sill guards, a registration plate frame, and 3D floor mats. All of these accessories together cost Rs 26,149 when purchased separately, and Rs 18,500 when bought as a kit. However, the Urbano Edition brings the price down to Rs 3,500.

The Urbano Edition is available with both the petrol and CNG powertrain options, on both manual and automatic trims. Without the package in place, the Brezza is currently priced from Rs 8.34 lakh to Rs 14.14 lakh, but there are discounts of up to Rs 25,000 this month.

The introduction of the Urbano Edition is similar to the recently launched Dream Series range that adds additional features to the Alto K10, S Presso and Celerio, in a bid to improve sales. Due to positive response, the limited-run Dream Series' availability has been extended by a month.

Maruti Brezza powertrain, rivals

The Brezza gets a sole 103hp, 137Nm 1.5-litre, four-cylinder NA petrol engine. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and there's a 6-speed torque converter available as an option. Rivals include the Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue and the Mahindra XUV 3XO, among other similarly priced SUVs.
