The Mahindra XUV.e9 has been spied on test in a near-production avatar, revealing a host of its design cues. The Mahindra XUV.e9 is essentially the all-electric, coupe derivative of the XUV700 SUV.

    1. XUV.e9 to be based on XUV700's EV derivative, the XUV.e8
    2. Could pack 80kWh battery for 435-450km (WLTP) range
    3. Launch expected in April 2025

    Mahindra XUV.e9: design details

The styling on the spied SUV looks quite similar to the concept that was previewed about a year ago. The car gets a closed-off grille with a full-width LED light bar and split headlamps vertically stacked in a triangular housing. Moving to the sides, the latest prototype gets new alloy wheels inspired by the BE.09.

Mirroring the front, the coupe-SUV's rear sports connected LED tail-lamps. The registration plate housing will be placed on the rear bumper, while the tailgate will feature the Mahindra emblem, and possibly the nameplate in the middle, under the logo.

    Mahindra XUV.e9: interior highlights

As per previous interior spy shots, the XUV.e9 will get three conjoined 12.3-inch displays, a two-spoke flat-bottomed steering wheel, and a conventional shift lever on the centre console. On the feature front, the SUV coupe could be equipped with an HUD with augmented navigation, vehicle-to-load (V2L) function to power external electrical devices, and Level 2 ADAS safety tech.

    Mahindra XUV.e9: range, battery

The XUV.e9 will share its battery pack as well as electric motor with the XUV.e8, which is set to arrive in India next year. The range-topping version could get an 80kWh battery pack feeding power to two motors for an all-wheel drive configuration. The power output could range from 230hp to 350hp, while a range of 435-450km (WLTP cycle) is expected.

    Mahindra XUV.e9: launch, price, rivals

The XUV.e9 is expected to launch in April 2025 and might be renamed closer to its arrival to be in line with Mahindra’s latest naming nomenclature that will soon kick off with the upcoming XUV 3XO. The XUV.e9 will sit above the XUV.e8 SUV in Mahindra’s EV line-up, and could be the company’s flagship offering in India.
