Apart from the recently updated XUV400 and the upcoming XUV300 EVs, Mahindra is also readying an army of born-EV SUVs that will go on sale starting next year. While the first of the born-EV SUVs from Mahindra will be the XUV.e8 and the XUV.e9 coupe, Mahindra will also bring three more born-EV SUVs under the BE SUV family. The BE.09 SUV coupe’s final design seems to have been patented with first patent images surfacing online. The BE.09 will be the third and biggest offering from the BE SUV line-up, which will also include the BE.05 and the BE.07 SUVs.

    1. Production BE.09 SUV-coupe to stay true to concept
    2. Features upright design and coupe-like raked roofline
    3. Launch timeline not yet confirmed

Not to be mistaken with the XUV.e9 EV coupe, the BE.09 will be a completely different SUV and will be bigger in size than the aforementioned EV SUV. Patent images confirm that the BE.09’s design is quite similar to the concept’s, including the unique LED DRL signature that is different from the XUV born-EV SUV line-up; the alloy wheel designs are only slightly different when compared to the concept. The BE.09 features an upright front design and a more prominent coupe-like sloping roofline. The overall look of the BE SUVs are expected to be retained from the concepts they are based on, including plenty of sharp cuts and lines, and continuing with their sporty character. Mahindra calls the BE line-up of SUVs Sport Electric Vehicles.

While the BE.05 and the BE.07 will go on sale in October 2025 and April 2026, respectively, the brand has not confirmed a launch timeline for the BE.09.  The first of the born-EV SUVs from the Mahindra stable will be the XUV.e8, which will see global debut by end of this year.
