Jeep has launched the Compass Night Eagle edition in India, which is essentially an all-black edition of the SUV, at a starting price of Rs 25.39 lakh.

    1. Limited-run model, based on Longitude (O) variant
    2. Available with diesel-FWD powertrain only
    3. Rivals Harrier Dark edition, Hector Blackstorm

Jeep Compass Night Eagle: what’s new?

The current iteration of the Compass first received the Night Eagle treatment back in 2022, but it returns with some changes over the previous model. It is based on the Longitude (O) variant of the SUV, and features a blacked-out grille, black roof rails, black 18-inch alloy wheels and Night Eagle badging. Some of the changes are similar to the Compass Black Shark, including the alloy-wheel design and the standard blacked-out roof. The interior of the Night Eagle edition carries forward the all-black theme.

Jeep is offering the special edition version with features like front and rear dashcam, rear entertainment unit, premium carpet mats, underbody lighting, ambient lights, and an air purifier as standard. Other features on offer include a panoramic sunroof, connected tech and a wireless charger. The Compass Night Eagle is available in three exterior colour options – black, white and red.

    Jeep Compass Night Eagle: powertrains

The Compass Night Eagle can only be had with the 2.0-litre diesel engine with the front-wheel drive configuration. This engine makes 170hp and 350Nm torque, and can be had with either a 6-speed manual transmission or an optional 9-speed torque converter automatic.

    Jeep Compass: price and rivals

Pricing for the Compass currently starts from Rs 20.49 lakh, and rivals the MG Hector, Tata Harrier, Mahindra XUV700, as well as slightly more premium SUVs like the Hyundai Tucson, Volkswagen Tiguan and Citroen C5 Aircross. The Compass Night Eagle, on the other hand, goes up against the Harrier Dark edition, the newly launched Hector Blackstorm, and the XUV700 with the Napoli Black paint scheme, which gets an all black treatment on the top-end AX7 and AX7L variants.
