Kia Vision Meta Turismo Concept could spawn a production model

Kia unveiled the Vision Meta Concept in December 2025, a sleek four-door GT prototype that could eventually make its way to production. This move signals Kia’s intention to look beyond traditional SUVs and crossovers as it plans its next generation of electric vehicles. While details are still limited, the production-spec model could slot between the EV6 and EV9 in Kia’s global line-up, potentially carrying the name EV7 or EV8, based on its size.

  1. Kia is exploring new EV body styles as its current lineup is ‘complete’.
  2. The GT concept previews a fresh exterior design and a reimagined interior.

Kia’s EV lineup is now ‘complete’

With the ‘completed’ lineup, Kia will begin work on the next-gen EVs

With the EV2 revealed in early 2026, Kia’s EV lineup now includes the EV2, EV3, EV4, EV5, EV6, and EV9. According to Oliver Samson, Kia Europe design chief, the EV2 completes the brand’s current lineup, putting Kia in a “unique situation” as it begins working on the next generation of electric vehicles.

Samson explained to our sister publication Autocar UK that this allows Kia to focus on next-gen models. When asked whether these models would differ significantly in design, he said, “We’re always looking for something new, so every time we start a project we don’t say ‘okay, the car should look like something we’ve done before.’” Samson added, “If we find something new, progressive, and fitting for Kia, we’d consider adding it to the family.”

Why could the Vision Meta Concept see the light of day?

The Vision Meta Concept is a prime candidate for production due to its alignment with Kia’s push for innovation and differentiation in the EV market. It blurs the line between a sedan and an SUV, and represents a significant departure from the brand’s existing models.

Inside, the concept features a reimagined seating layout. Samson asks, “Why do the driver and co-driver have to sit in the same way? If the driver is doing something totally different, why should the passenger experience be the same?”

Production potential is still under evaluation

Customer reaction is being gauged for the production decision

While Kia has not confirmed a production version, the brand is actively gauging public and customer reactions to the Vision Meta Concept. Samson said, “We’re really looking into having a dialogue with our consumers, to make sure that we are not designing something completely off. We’re looking for their reaction: is that in line with what you expect from Kia?”

If the feedback is positive, the Vision Meta Concept could evolve into a production electric model, expanding Kia’s electric portfolio beyond SUVs and crossovers.
