Jeep India has launched a new limited-run Track Edition of the Meridian SUV priced from Rs 35.95 lakh (ex-showroom). The special edition model is based on the top Overland trim of the Meridian, and brings some exterior and interior cosmetic upgrades. The Meridian Track Edition is available in both 4x2 and 4x4 versions, but only with an automatic gearbox.

The Meridian Track Edition costs Rs 34,000 more than the Overland trim it is based on. Bookings for the new Track Edition have commenced at Jeep dealerships or online. An additional Rs 9,200 for a mandatory AXS pack will be charged over and above the ex-showroom price.

While it’s not the most appropriately named special edition model, the new Track Edition brings some premium touches to the Meridian’s cabin with a new suede trim for the dashboard with contrast stitching as well as new dual-tone leatherette and suede seat upholstery with quilted stitching. There are also new Dark Espresso accents with Piano Black bezels spread across the cabin, a new Cortina leatherwrapped steering wheel and ‘Track Edition’ appliques on the floor mats and dashboard. 

On the outside, the Meridian Track Edition gets piano black accents for the grille, badges and exterior mouldings, a new hood decal and a ‘Track Edition’ badge on the tailgate.

The equipment list, however, remains unchanged from the Overland trim it is based on. So features like the 10.1-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 10.25‑inch digital instrument cluster, Alpine audio system, panoramic sunroof, powered and ventilated front seats with memory function, and Level 2 ADAS continue on the Track Edition. Jeep’s newly introduced sliding function for the Meridian’s middle-row is also available on this special edition SUV.

Under the hood, the Meridian Track Edition retains the tried-and-tested 2.0-litre diesel engine producing 170hp and 350Nm. The engine is paired to a 9-speed automatic gearbox, and Jeep is offering the Meridian Track Edition in both 4x2 and 4x4 versions.

The model also comes with Jeep Confidence 7, the ownership program that delivers up to seven years of warranty, assured buyback, maintenance packages, roadside assistance and priority service.
