The Kia Carnival will make a comeback in the Indian market next year and the global debut of the one that’s headed to our shores will take place soon. Fresh spy shots of the Carnival that will come to India have surfaced in Korea, giving us an early look at the MPV’s refreshed styling.

    1. Carnival will be assembled in India via CKD kits
    2. Will get multiple seating options
    3. Kia EV9 EV SUV also coming to India next year

Kia Carnival for India gets major styling updates

The new spy shots seem to have been clicked during the updated MPV’s ad shoot. Up front, the styling makes a clear departure from the outdated looks that were seen on the pre-facelift Carnival, which was also previewed as the Kia KA4 in India earlier this year.

The spy shots confirm a more upright nose with a wide grille, and L-shaped headlamps with corresponding daytime running lamps. The grille gets chrome bits scattered all across it, while the front bumper gets a smooth design and is devoid of any cuts or creases. A small air intake is positioned below, which is surrounded by a faux brushed aluminium skid plate, giving the MPV a premium look.

The L-shaped theme continues on the tail-lamps as well, which are connected via an LED light bar, keeping the design language similar to the ones seen on the updated Seltos and Kia’s multiple born-EV SUVs, including the India-bound EV9. The tailgate has a flat look with the license plate enclosure at the centre, and the rear bumper gets a mix of matte black and chrome treatment.

Apart from these styling touches, there are chrome embellishments on the sides as well and the alloy wheel design is new, which mimics the ones seen on the newer Kia models, especially the born-EV SUVs like the EV5 and the EV9. Higher variants will get a dual sunroof setup and roof rails too.

On the inside, the dashboard and tech will be spruced up and there will be multiple seating options on offer. The Carnival will get new-look seats from the EV9 and there are talks of more features as well, including twin curved displays for instrumentation and infotainment and safety tech like ADAS, among others.

Expect more details on the India-bound Carnival to surface as global debut nears. In India, it will not have a direct rival as the MPV will be positioned in between the Innova Hycross and Toyota Vellfire.
