The Hyundai i20 facelift was launched in the Indian market back in September 2023 and the brand has now introduced a new Sportz (O) trim that is Rs 35,000 dearer than the Sportz trim, which sits below the new trim. The Sportz (O) is priced at Rs 8.73 lakh (ex-showroom) for the monotone paint options, while the dual-tone paint versions are priced at Rs 8.88 lakh. The new variant will be visually more or less identical to the Sportz variant, but it gets more features; read on to find out what additional features the i20 Sportz (O) gets.

    1. i20 Sportz (O) gets single-pane sunroof
    2. Available only with a 5-speed manual

    Hyundai i20 Sportz (O) features

The biggest highlight of this new Hyundai i20 Sportz (O) trim, is the addition of a single-pane sunroof. Earlier, the sunroof was available on just the higher Asta and Asta (O) variants. Other feature additions include a wireless charger and a faux leather finish for the armrests on the doors.

Apart from these, the Hyundai i20 Sportz (O) is also equipped generously with features such as a height-adjustable driver seat, cruise control and a rear parking camera, to name a few. While it does get 16-inch wheels, they're steel wheels and not the diamond-cut alloys offered on higher trims. The standard sound system offered consists of front and rear speakers along with front tweeters; the Bose sound system is only offered on higher variants.

Safety-wise, the Hyundai i20 Sportz (O) gets six airbags, ABS, EBD, hill-start assist, ESC and Vehicle Stability Management Control.

    Hyundai i20 Sportz (O) powertrain

The Hyundai i20 Sportz (O) will be powered by the standard 1.2-litre Kappa petrol engine, but unlike some other variants, it is only available with the 5-speed manual transmission. This engine produces 83hp when mated to the manual and 88hp when mated to the CVT auto offered on select trims.

    Hyundai i20 Sportz (O) rivals

The Hyundai i20 facelift rivals premium hatchbacks like the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Toyota Glanza and the Tata Altroz. However, the Altroz is the only one of these choices that comes with a turbo-petrol engine option. The i20 was previously offered with a 120hp turbo-petrol engine. However, that unit is now only available with the hot i20 N Line
