Hyundai will launch the Alcazar facelift in India on September 9. The three-row SUV will get a major update to its exterior and interior styling, but is expected to remain mechnically unchanged. It will continue to rival the likes of Tata Safari and MG Hector Plus in the domestic market.

  • Alcazar’s grille, front bumper and side claddings will look different
  • Its rear would get a new tailgate with a fresh tail-light design
  • Refreshed dashboard will resemble the Creta’s, to have twin screens

Hyundai Alcazar facelift: what to expect?

Multiple test mule sightings of the Alcazar facelift have hinted at it getting unique styling tweaks that will distinguish it further from the Creta, which got a facelift this year. While the split headlamp design might remain similar, the grille and front bumper will be different. It will get the new alloy wheels, and side claddings will be altered. The rear would sport a completely new tailgate with a fresh tail-light design that has a mix of vertical and horizontal elements.

On the inside, the Alcazar will get a dashboard similar to the one in the Creta facelift, replete with a twin-screen setup and soft-touch materials. The refreshed Alcazar will continue to have 6- and 7-seater configurations. The 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine options will continue. The petrol engine is good for 160hp and 253Nm of torque and comes with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. The diesel engine delivers an output of 116hp and 250Nm and is available with a 6MT or a 6AT.
