To make the BYD Sealion 7 EV more accessible, the Chinese carmaker has introduced the new Dynamic trim at Rs 41.90 lakh, ex-showroom. It replaces the Rs 49.90 lakh-Premium as the base trim and is Rs 8 lakh cheaper. Compared to the rest of the line-up, the Sealion 7 Dynamic gets a smaller battery and fewer features.

BYD Sealion 7 Dynamic trim: Battery specs, range
BYD has equipped the Dynamic trim with a 71.8kWh Blade battery pack, which powers a 231hp rear-wheel drive motor. The carmaker claims a single-charge range of 520km on the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC). In terms of acceleration, the Dynamic version has a claimed 0-100kph sprint time of 7.3 seconds.

Whereas, both the Premium and Performance trims come with a 82.56kWh battery pack. The Sealion 7 Premium uses a rear-wheel drive setup, producing 313hp, while the 530hp-Performance version gets dual-motors, enabling all-wheel drive. The Premium and Performance trims claim NEDC ranges of 567km and 542km, respectively.
BYD Sealion 7 Dynamic trim: Features
Like the higher trims, the Dynamic version packs LED headlights and tail-lights, 15.6-inch touchscreen (rotatable), 10.25-inch driver's display, powered front seats with ventilation, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, panoramic glass roof, 360-degree camera, 11 airbags, Level 2 ADAS and more.

However, it gets smaller 19-inch alloy wheels (compared to the top-spec Perfromance trim's 20-inch units) and 10 speakers, two less than both Premium and Performance. Furthermore, it misses out on a head-up display, gesture-controlled function for the tailgate, leather wrapped steering wheel, powered lumbar adjustment for the driver's seat, a PM2.5 air filter and more.
With the more affordable Dynamic trim, the Sealion 7 is better placed to take on the likes of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 (Rs 55.71 lakh), Kia EV6 (65.98 lakh) and BMW iX1 LWB (Rs 52.7 lakh).
