    Best year-end discounts on sedans

    As the calendar year draws to a close, carmakers are offering some attractive benefits and discounts, in order to clear stocks ahead of the new year. Here’s how much you can save on the purchase of a brand-new sedan this month. 

    Honda Civic (Priced from Rs 17.94 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi)

    Up to Rs 2.5 lakh off

    The Honda Civic is a comfortable and spacious sedan that draws quite a lot of attention due to its sporty design. The model is powered by a 141hp, 1.8-litre petrol engine and a 120hp, 1.6-litre diesel. Honda is offering the Civic with discounts of up to Rs 2.5 lakh this month.

    Volkswagen Vento (Priced from Rs 8.94 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi)

    Up to Rs 1.6 lakh off

    The Volkswagen Vento has been around for over 10 years and the model has only received slight tweaks since then. Earlier this year though, VW gave the Vento a new 110hp, 1.0-litre TSI engine option and a minor facelift. In this month, select versions of the sedan are currently being offered with benefits worth Rs 1.6 lakh.

    Hyundai Elantra (Priced from Rs 17.60 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi)

    Up to Rs 1 lakh off

    The Elantra is Hyundai’s answer to the Honda Civic. The stylish sedan can be had with either a 2.0-litre petrol or a 1.5-litre diesel engine, both of which get 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox options. The Elantra is available with benefits of up to Rs 1 lakh.

    Hyundai Aura (Priced from Rs 5.86 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi)

    Up to Rs 70,000 off

    A replacement for the Xcent, the Aura is Hyundai’s competitor in the tightly-contested compact sedan space. The Aura gets two petrol engine options, one diesel and even a CNG option. Buyers can avail benefits worth Rs 70,000 on the Aura.

    Maruti Suzuki Ciaz (Priced from Rs 8.32 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi)   

    Up to Rs 61,000 off

    The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is a spacious sedan that’s powered by a frugal 105hp, 1.5-litre petrol engine. The Hyundai Verna rival can be had with discounts of up to Rs 61,000 this year-end.

    Toyota Yaris (Priced from Rs 9.16 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi) 

    Up to Rs 60,000 off

    Though not as popular as its competitors, the Yaris is known for its standard safety equipment (seven airbags), its standard warranty package (3 year/unlimited km) and Toyota’s hassle-free ownership. The Yaris is available with benefits up to Rs 60,000 this year-end.

    Honda Amaze (Priced from Rs 6.17 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi)

    Up to Rs 37,000 off

    The second-gen Honda Amaze is a big step-up from the previous model and is available in four engine-gearbox combinations for buyers to choose from. This month, the Maruti Dzire rival can be had with benefits of up to Rs 37,000.

    Maruti Suzuki Dzire facelift (Priced from Rs 5.89 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi)

    Up to Rs 35,500 off

    One of Maruti’s bestsellers, the facelifted Dzire is a petrol-only model, powered by a 90hp, 1.2-litre unit. The Dzire has a spacious cabin and comes with the option of manual and automatic gearboxes. Buyers can avail discounts worth Rs 35,500 on the compact sedan.

    Honda City (5th generation) (Priced from Rs 10.90 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi)

    Up to Rs 30,000 off

    The recently-launched fifth-gen Honda City can be had with benefits worth Rs 30,000 this month. The new City is sure to draw buyers with its space, premium cabin, strong engines and lengthy features list.

    Tata Tigor (Priced from Rs 5.39 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi)

    Up to Rs 30,000 off

    Tata’s compact sedan offering, the Tigor, is stylish, well-equipped and fuel-efficient. Buyers can get up to Rs 30,000 off on the purchase of a new Tigor this year-end.
