2019 BMW X5 price, variants explained

BMW has just launched the new X5 SUV in India at a starting price of Rs 72.90 lakh. Like the previous model on sale in India, the fourth-generation X5 is available with both petrol and diesel engine options.

The X5 with the 3.0-litre, six-cylinder turbo-diesel unit that produces 265hp with 620Nm of torque comes in two variants – the xDrive30d Sport and the xDrive30d xLine. Meanwhile, the X5 xDrive40i, which has a 3.0-litre, six-cylinder turbo-petrol unit capable of producing 340hp and 450Nm of torque, comes in a single M Sport trim.

All three variants of the 2019 BMW X5 are equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission and (as their names imply) also get BMW’s xDrive all-wheel-drive system. The new X5 will be locally assembled at BMW India's plant in Chennai.

We decided to take a closer look at what each of these variants have to offer in terms of features and equipment; and also take a look at their pricing.
