I have an Audi Q3 (that I want to replace) and an Innova. My budget is Rs. 1.3 crore (on-road), and I use my car mainly for city driving, with an average speed of 20 kph. I need a car that delivers a minimum mileage of 10 kpl, is easy to manoeuvre, and has features like a powered tailgate and ventilated seats.

Since mileage is key, most petrol-powered luxury SUVs available in this price will deliver single digit figures, especially given your average speeds of 20kph. The Lexus RX is a car that might interest you. Being a hybrid, fuel efficiency is likely to be impressive. Further, this Lexus car isn't too large to feel cumbersome to drive in the city. Also, it is well-equipped with powered tailgate and ventilated seats that you're looking for.

If you're looking for something that's a bit more fun-to-drive, and you don't mind opting for a diesel, you could pick between a BMW X5 and a Mercedes-Benz GLC. The BMW car will be a bit nicer to drive but it misses seat ventilation, while the Mercedes' interior is very impressive, and it packs in the features you're looking for. I'm 6'2" tall and am on the heavier side. I have recently been affected with Disc bulge due to which doctors have adviced me to reduce driving. I currently own an Alto, and want to move to a car that will let me drive in a better posture with no further trouble due to the same in the long run. Please suggest suitable options. Given your height, build and recent disc bulge, the priority should be a car with an easy entry and exit, a high seating position and upright driving posture. The Tata Punch is a good option here. The doors open very wide and the seat height makes entry and exit easy. The seats are also comfy and supportive enough. The suspension is also very good delivering a comfy ride and can manage bad roads, this would be important given your back troubles. Lastly, the Punch meets your budget and you would be able to opt for an automatic too. Given your back trouble it would make sense to have your left leg do less work as repeated use of the clutch could put a little strain on your hips and lower back area.

The Tata Harrier is a very good choice for your usage. With predominantly highway driving, the Harrier’s strengths really come to the fore. The diesel engine is strong and relaxed at cruising speeds, and the car feels planted and stable on long runs. The ride quality is also excellent, soaking up bad patches and undulations with ease, which makes it a comfortable long-distance companion.The only thing to be aware of is that Tata’s ownership experience can be a bit inconsistent depending on the service centre, so check the dealers out in your area as Tata Motors are making many improvements with their service. If you are open to alternatives, the Mahindra XUV 7XO is worth considering as well. It offers a more powerful diesel engine and is very well equipped.

I used to own a manual Ford EcoSport Trend Petrol model manual which I drove for 7 years. But as the service centre in Guwahati shut down recently, and also due to the lack of readily available spare parts, I was compelled to sell it. Recently, I had booked a Renault Duster Adventure 1.3L DCT and might get the vehicle delivered within a week. I have also taken the test drive and liked the power and comfort. But my concern comes from the fact that the sales figures have gone down from 512 units in July 2026 to zero in August 2026. So will it right to go ahead with the Duster, seeing their sales figures going down? As an alternative, I am looking for the Mahindra XUV 3XO AX7 turbo Petrol TC. My budget is within Rs. 17.50 lakhs.

Go ahead with the Renault Duster 1.3 DCT. It is a genuinely good product, and the 1.3 turbo petrol paired with the DCT is a strong, enjoyable powertrain. The Duster is also one of the few cars in the segment that genuinely stands out for its ride comfort and driving dynamics, which is exactly what you liked during your test drive.The Mahindra XUV 3XO AX7 Turbo Petrol AT is a very good alternative, but it is a different proposition. The 3XO is a modern product with a rich feature list, but it does not offer the same level of driving engagement or ride comfort as the Duster. The Duster is the better driver's car, and if that is what you are looking for, it is the right choice.The only thing to check is Renault's service network in Guwahati. Make sure there is a reliable service centre nearby, as that was the reason you sold your EcoSport in the first place. If Renault's service network is strong in your area, go ahead with the Duster. If not, the 3XO is the safer ownership proposition.

I currently drive a Grand i10 Manual petrol and am now planning to buy a new compact SUV that is comfortable, fuel efficient and has low maintenance. My usage is 35km of daily office commute in Delhi-NCR traffic. Please advice which option is best fit amongst Hyundai Venue HX 6T, SONET HTK+O and XUV 3XO.

Go for the Hyundai Venue. With your daily 35km commute in Delhi NCR traffic, comfort and low maintenance are key, and the Venue delivers on both. The 1.2 NA petrol is smooth, refined and easy to drive in stop-start conditions, while Hyundai’s service network and ownership experience are among the best in the segment. The HX6T variant also gives you a good balance of features without pushing the budget too far.The Sonet HTK+O is mechanically very similar, but the Venue is a newer model and offers a more spacious cabin. The XUV 3XO is also a good option, but its turbo petrol engine won't be as efficient as the Hyundai’s.Overall, the Venue is the most sensible upgrade from your Grand i10 for daily city use.
