Hi, Iโm looking to buy a new car primarily for my dad, who will be chauffeur-driven to work, but on weekends and road trips, I will drive it. Iโm torn between the Lexus LM and the Range Rover HSE or Autobiography. I realize these are completely different vehicles, but neither my family nor I have been able to finalize a choice. Also, please share your insight on whether the petrol Autobiography is worth the โน30 lakh premium.
The Lexus LM and Land Rover Range Rover HSE are completely different vehicles. The Lexus LM is a fantastic chauffeur-driven car with a pair of rear seats that resemble a first-class cabin.
We can see your father being very comfortable in the back seat, which has all amenities, and getting in and out of those sliding doors will be very easy. The Range Rover doesnโt have the same lounge-like cabin, but the back seat is fantastically comfortable too.
Where the Range Rover noses ahead of the LM is with its far better ride quality and the sheer class it offers. An MPV, no matter how luxurious, somehow canโt match the status and image of an SUV. And lastly, for your weekend drives and road trips, the Range Rover drives much better than the LM.

I am planning to sell my Hyundai i20 and am confused between the Lexus ES and the Honda City Hybrid. Please advise which one I should buy.
There is a huge difference between the Honda City Hybrid and the Lexus ES 300h. Though both are hybrids, the City is a mainstream mid-size sedan, and the Lexus ES is a luxury car.
The Lexus is in a different league compared to the Honda car and costs around three times more than the City hybrid. So, if you can afford the Lexus, go ahead and buy it. It will offer you a far more luxurious experience and, thanks to its relatively low cost of ownership, is remarkably light on the pocket for a Rs 70 lakh-plus luxury car.

I drive less than 200 km a month, and my current Nexon (petrol) has run only 40,000 km in 7 years. I want to upgrade and keep my next car for at least 7-8 years. I can wait until 2027 or 2028, as there is no urgent need. We are a small family of two adults and a 10-year-old child. My heart says sedan, but I am open to other body styles. My priorities, in order, are safety, comfort, style, AWD and a brand with good service and maintenance. My budget is within โน1.5 crore. I like the upcoming Tesla S, Volvo S90/ES90 and Lexus 350h. If Ford launches the Mustang, then only Mustang.
While 2027/28 is a long time away, and it's near impossible to gauge which launches will happen then, unfortunately, most of the cars you have listed are unlikely to be launched in India. This is simply because sedans, of which you are a fan, are not as popular anymore, and small-volume brands like the ones you have listed - Tesla, Volvo, Lexus and even Ford at this stage - are unlikely to take a risk launching a new sedan in an SUV-heavy market like ours.
Of the lot, the most likely is the next-gen Lexus ES, which is a unique and tech-laden hybrid or EV alternative to the established luxury sedan set. It meets all your requirements, including an AWD option, though it remains to be seen the specification Lexus chooses for India. Lexus cars are known for their reliability and relatively low maintenance costs, so keeping the car for 7-8 years should not be a problem.

I have been using an Audi A6 for the past decade. I now want to purchase a new full-size luxury SUV with the latest tech features. My budget is โน80 lakh on-road. I am willing to wait for new launches in 2026. I prefer a hybrid and am not fixated on any particular brand. I plan to use the vehicle for the next 15 years. Can you suggest a good luxury SUV that I can buy?
At your price range, there aren't any full-size hybrid luxury SUVs, but you do have a few options. You could consider the Jeep Grand Cherokee, which, while not from one of the traditional luxury brands, offers comparable tech, space, and interior appointments to a full-size luxury SUV at excellent value for money.
Alternatively, you would have to move a size down, but you can get an excellent, strong hybrid SUV in the form of the Lexus NX. It has a uniquely Japanese take on luxury, and its reputation for rock-solid reliability and low running costs means it will last you 15 years with little issue.
