It’s no secret that a facelift for the Hyundai Venue has been in development for a few months now. We've seen the SUV being tested multiple times in South Korea, and recently we saw a test mule in India as well.

However, Hyundai has now also begun testing the sportier Venue N-Line variant in India, that will be based on the upcoming Venue facelift, indicating its imminent launch.

  • Venue N-Line to get refreshed front and rear styling
  • Will also feature cosmetic changes on the interior
  • Likely to be powered by the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine

2022 Hyundai Venue N-Line: what do we know?

Much like the Hyundai i20 N-line available in India, the Venue N-Line is going to have a number of cosmetic updates that will help differentiate it from the standard model. Among the changes will be an N-Line badging on the front fender, new front and rear bumpers with red accents on their lower sections, red inserts on the roof rails, a new alloy wheel design and a dual-tip exhaust pipe.

Some design changes from the upcoming Venue facelift will also be carried over to the N-Line model, such as the new front-end styling with the ‘Parametric’ grille design (similar to the new Tucson), revised headlights and sleeker tail-lights.

On the inside, we expect the Venue N-Line to carry forward the same design and layout as the current model, but it will likely sport an all-black interior theme with red accents and ‘N’ logos dotted around the cabin, just like on other N-Line models. The equipment levels are also expected to improve with the arrival of the Venue facelift, though we’ll have more details closer to its launch.

2022 Hyundai Venue facelift: powertrains

Mechanically, the Hyundai Venue N-Line, is expected to come equipped with the same 120hp, 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, as in the India-spec i20 N-Line. Gearbox options will include a 7-speed DCT automatic and a 6-speed iMT unit.

We should mention, however, that the standard Venue facelift is also slated to continue using its 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and the 1.5-litre diesel currently available on the compact SUV.

2022 Hyundai Venue facelift: expected launch timeline and rivals

Hyundai is expected to launch the new Venue N-Line in our market sometime in the coming months, shortly after the introduction of the Venue facelift. In terms of rivals, the Venue N-Line will face off against its compact-SUV rivals, which includes the Kia SonetTata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, Renault Kiger and Nissan Magnite.

The segment will also see the arrival of the updated versions of the Toyota Urban Cruiser and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza.
