Bajaj Pulsar 150
The Bajaj Pulsar 150 is a sporty commuter motorcycle that has been completely redesigned for 2026 while retaining the familiar Classic Pulsar silhouette. It uses a new 149.5cc single-cylinder, air-oil-cooled engine making 14hp and 14.1Nm, paired with a new 5-speed gearbox. The chassis has also changed to a lighter, stiffer diamond-type frame with a monoshock replacing the previous twin-shock setup.
The new Pulsar 150 continues with the chunky fuel tank, sharp tank extensions, wolf-eye headlamp and pointed tail that define the Classic Pulsar design. It now also gets more modern equipment, including a 5-inch display, riding modes, crawl mode and USB Type-C charging. Higher variants add a colour TFT, Integrated Starter Generator and connected features.
In our road test, the new Pulsar 150 was easy to ride and handled predictably. The engine has good low- and mid-range torque and the lighter clutch makes it manageable in traffic. However, the test bike's rear suspension felt slightly underdamped over larger bumps, while the gearshift action was described as somewhat vague. Its comfortable highway cruising speed is around 90-95kph.
Who should buy the Bajaj Pulsar 150?
Buyer type | Why it fits |
Daily commuter | The tractable engine, light clutch and new low-rpm assist function make the Pulsar 150 easy to use in stop-start traffic. |
Rider upgrading from a 125cc bike | The 149.5cc engine provides 14hp and 14.1Nm, giving it more performance headroom while retaining a familiar commuter-friendly format. |
Classic Pulsar fan | The 2026 motorcycle retains the recognizable tank, headlamp and overall silhouette while substantially changing the mechanical package underneath. |
Tech-focused commuter | Higher variants get a TFT display, Bluetooth, riding modes, ISG, stop-start functionality and, on the top version, Google Maps mirroring. |
Occasional highway rider | We found the bike comfortable cruising at around 90-95kph, making it capable of regular highway use rather than being restricted to city riding. |

Questions you may find useful
I currently own a previous-generation 2026 Pulsar 150 Twin Disc. The new model comes with updated switchgear that includes a hazard light switch. Is it possible to install the new switchgear with the hazard switch on my bike? What could potentially go wrong with such an upgrade? For context, my bike is only two months old and has covered around 1,000km.
You cannot change the switchgear on an old-gen Bajaj Pulsar 150 to the latest 2026 version because the bikes use different displays, wiring harnesses, and the switches themselves are different too. We'd recommend not tampering with an electrical component on a brand new bike because if something goes wrong, it could cause a cascading effect on other functions of the bike too. Your nearest authorised Bajaj service centre should be able to guide you on how to proceed if you must have this feature on your bike.
I’m planning to buy a motorcycle for the first time. Please suggest a suitable option based on my requirements. My main priorities are safety and comfort. I’ll mostly ride in villages and cities, with occasional highway rides. I’m 5'4" tall and weigh 45 kg. My budget is around Rs 1.5 lakh. I would also prefer a bike with a single-seat setup, as I’ll be carrying my parents as pillion riders.
Given your requirements, commuter bikes like the Honda Unicorn, Bajaj Pulsar 150, and Yamaha FZ would be our recommendation. These have low and flat single-piece seats, good suspension comfort, and will also be quite fuel-efficient. Take a test ride of all three before you make your decision.
I’m looking for a bike around 1.8 to 2.8 L with very good suspension for back pain. My driving every day will be 1 hr to 1.5 hr one way, which is 2-3 hrs in total. 60% high way and 40% city, with lots of school traffic. I just moved from the US, and these roads are giving me back pain. I’m looking for more comfort with seats, suspension and ride posture.
Moving up from a Pulsar 150, you should check out the 350cc Bajaj Dominar 400, which will feel more substantial and comfortable, not to mention head and shoulders above when it comes to performance. Since your ride has a lot of highway stretches, a machine that can cruise comfortably at higher speeds while keeping you comfortable will be a good bet.If you want to look at the adventure bike space, consider the Hero Xpulse 210 and TVS Apache RTX 300. The Xpulse is lighter, which will make it easier to manage at slower speeds, and its smaller engine will also be more fuel efficient. On the other hand, the RTX has a more powerful engine capable of delivering more performance and its seating comfort is better than the Xpulse. Do bear in mind that both of these are tall bikes and will require some skill to manage if you're a shorter person. If, instead, you want a neo-retro machine, then consider proven options like the Honda CB350 models and Royal Enfield Classic / Bullet 350. These are relaxed and comfortable machines with torquey engines, which will be suitable for long commutes. When ridden sensibly, they also return good fuel economy. These bikes are all very different from one another, and to accurately gauge which is the best one for you, take a test ride of all before you make your decision.
