The Hyundai Creta is Honda Elevate’s biggest threat in the mid-size SUV segment given that the former is the segment leader. The Creta received a mid-life refresh earlier this year, while the Elevate is still a relatively newer offering in the segment, having entered the space only last year. The Hyundai Creta CVT is priced from Rs 15.86 lakh-18.88 lakh, while the prices for the Honda Elevate CVT start from Rs 13.71 lakh, going up to Rs 16.51 lakh.

Hyundai Creta vs Honda Elevate: powertrains

The Creta that we tested was equipped with the 1.5-litre, four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 115hp and 144Nm torque, mated to a CVT auto gearbox. The Hyundai SUV has an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency figure of 17.7kpl for this very powertrain, and 17.4kpl for the 1.5-litre NA petrol engine with the manual transmission.

The Honda Elevate is offered with a sole 1.5-litre, four-cylinder NA petrol engine making 121hp and 145Nm. The engine is available with a 6-speed manual gearbox and an optional CVT – meaning that it is a direct rival to the Hyundai Creta 1.5-litre NA petrol. The Elevate MT has an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 15.31kpl, while the CVT version we are comparing here is said to return a mileage of 16.92kpl.
