The Tata Curvv Dark Edition is finished in a new Carbon Black colour, with most of the exterior chrome trim eschewed in favour of gloss-black elements, like on the bumpers, grille and window line. It also gets darkened Tata logos and exclusive 'Dark' badging on the fenders.

Much like the exterior, the Curvv Dark Edition’s cabin features an all-black theme for the leatherette seats, 4-spoke steering wheel, centre console and roof liner, as well as 'Dark' embossing on the headrests. Since the Curvv Dark Edition is based on the standard Curvv’s top-spec Accomplished trim, it offers equipment such as ambient lighting, ventilated front seats, wireless charging, a panoramic sunroof, a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 9-speaker JBL sound system, and more.

As the name suggests, the Tata Nexon EV Red Dark Edition adds a dash of red to the blacked-out version of the compact SUV. On the outside, it sports 'Dark' badges with red accenting, along with a black paint finish, wheels and exterior trim, as well as darkened Tata logos. Buyers can also opt for the Nexon EV Dark Edition without the Red Dark treatment.

This powertrain offers an ARAI-claimed range of 489km. With a 60kW DC fast charger, the battery can be replenished from 10 to 80 percent in 40 minutes, while 7kW AC charging can juice it up from 10-100 percent in 6.5 hours.

Tata Harrier Dark and Stealth editions

Rs 17.63 lakh-25.25 lakh

Exterior and interior

While the Stealth Edition is based on the top-spec Harrier Fearless X+ trim, the Dark Edition is available from the Pure X trim to the top end for the Tata Harrier. Also, the Stealth Edition is limited to 2,700 units. The primary difference between the two black editions is that the Dark uses gloss-black paint, and the Stealth adds a matte-black finish. A fully black front grille, bumper and skid plate are common exterior features, but the Stealth brings a new design for the alloy wheels and ‘STEALTH’ badging on the fender.

Some chrome touches, like on the door handles, are seen in the Dark SUV’s cabin. The limited edition Stealth goes for an all-black treatment. In terms of features, the top Harrier packs Level 2 ADAS, 7 airbags, a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, a 10-speaker JBL audio system, connected car tech and dual-zone climate control.

Tata Safari Dark and Stealth editions

Rs 18.01 lakh-25.96 lakh

Exterior and interior

The Tata Safari Stealth Edition is offered on the top Accomplished X+ trim, and the Dark Edition is available from the Pure X trim. Like the Harrier’s Stealth and Dark Editions, the Safari gets blacked-out trims, and a fully black front grille and alloy wheels. However, the Safari offers 6- or 7-seat options with additional features over the Harrier like heated and cooled cup holders at the front, ventilated front and middle row seats, AC vents on the pillars and captain seats (in 6-seat variants).

Engine and transmission

The 170hp, 2.0-litre diesel engine continues to be offered here, alongside a 6-speed manual or a torque converter automatic transmission.

Mahindra XUV700 Ebony Edition

Rs 18.51 lakh-23.71 lakh

Exterior and interior

The Mahindra XUV700 Ebony Edition gets a new Stealth Black paint. Other changes over the standard model include blacked-out 18-inch alloy wheels and Ebony badges on the body. The XUV700 Ebony’s interior has a black theme for the leatherette upholstery, dashboard and door trims. To add some contrast, Mahindra has added silver plastic bits on the steering and dashboard and a light grey roof liner.

Since the Ebony Edition is offered with the range-topping AX7 and AX7 L variants, features like a 10.25-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 6-way electrically adjustable seats and a panoramic sunroof are offered. Mahindra has also added a rear seat belt reminder on all variants.

Mahindra Scorpio N Carbon Edition

Rs 19.33 lakh-24.17 lakh

Exterior and interior

The new Mahindra Scorpio N Carbon Edition is reserved for the Z8 T and Z8L top trims. The dark theme blacks out the otherwise chrome door handles and window side moulding. Also, the all-black alloy wheels are exclusive to the Carbon Edition. Inside, everything from the dashboard and leatherette seats to door trims are in line with the pitch-black philosophy. Note that one can have this black Scorpio N top model only in the 7-seat configuration. As for features, an 8-inch touchscreen, a sunroof, drive modes, dual-zone AC, 12 speakers and 6 airbags are offered.

Engine and transmission

Under the hood, the new Scorpio N variant continues with the 203hp, 2-litre turbo-petrol engine or the 175hp, 2.2-litre diesel engine. Both of these can be had with either a 6-speed manual transmission or an automatic transmission. However, the 4WD is only available with the 2.2 diesel.

MG Hector and Hector Plus Blackstorm editions

Rs 20 lakh-20.58 lakh

Exterior and interior

The MG Hector Blackstorm Edition comes finished in a Starry Black paint and replaces the chrome details with a gunmetal finish along with red accents. This theme extends to the grille, the MG logo and even the lining on the bumpers. The 18-inch alloy wheels and roof rails get a gloss-black finish, while customers can also have a ‘Blackstorm’ emblem on the front fenders at no extra cost.

The all-black treatment is complemented by gun-metal trims on the centre console, steering wheel, AC vents and door trims. The MG Hector Plus Blackstorm Edition gets all of the above features but adds the option of 6 or 7 seats. Since these are based on the second-from-top Sharp Pro trim, the features list comprises a 14-inch portrait-oriented touchscreen, a panoramic sunroof, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless phone charger, push-button engine start/stop and a smart key.

Engine and transmission

The Hector and Hector Plus SUVs share their 143hp, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and 170hp, 2-litre diesel powertrains. A 6-speed manual transmission is standard, while the petrol motor can be paired with a CVT unit.

Maruti Grand Vitara Phantom Blaq Edition

The Phantom Blaq edition sports a new Matte Black wrap, blacked-out 17-inch alloy wheels, and darkened out chrome parts, save for the window surrounds and Maruti Suzuki emblems.

The interiors of the Grand Vitara Phantom Blaq Edition are unchanged as the SUV’s strong-hybrid variants already get an all-black cabin with leatherette upholstery. Features on offer include a 9-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, a wireless charger and more.

Engine and transmission

The Grand Vitara strong hybrid couples a 116hp, 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine to a 0.76kWh lithium-ion battery and front-mounted electric motor. Transmission duties are handled by an eCVT unit.

Charging the 42kWh and 51.4kWh battery packs with the 11kW AC charger (10-100 percent) takes 4 hours and 4.5 hours, respectively. From the leatherette upholstery to the centre console, nearly every surface in the Curvv EV Dark Edition’s cabin is blacked out.
