Ather has sold over 16,000 scooters in July 2025, taking all-time sales to 402,207 units. As per sales data from the Vahan portal, the company delivered 16,231 units last month — just 17 units short of October 2024, which happened to be the second-best monthly sales for the Bengaluru-based company. With end-of-month registrations still being processed, this July could potentially overtake last October to become Ather’s second-highest sales month to date. Ather’s best monthly sales coincided with the end of the FAME II subsidy, with 17,430 units sold in March 2024.

  1. Ather now holds 14 percent of 2W EV market share
  2. Rizta contributes to 60 percent of monthly sales

With 98,004 units sold from January to July 2025, Ather could surpass the 150,000 annual sales mark for the very time by the end of the calendar year. For some perspective, the company’s sales in the first seven months of this year already account for 77 percent of its total volume in CY24.

Will Ather cross half a million sales in 2025?

Strong festive season could propel total sales past 5 lakh units

Interestingly, if Ather matches its sales performance from the first seven months of 2025 in the remaining five months, the company is well-positioned to cross the half-a-million sales milestone by year-end. This isn’t an unlikely scenario, given the anticipated surge in sales during the festive season.

The overall upward trend in sales can largely be attributed to the more recently launched Ather Rizta which now accounts for over 60 percent of the company’s monthly sales. The more family-oriented offering seems to have fit well into the ever expanding electric two-wheeler space, selling its first 100,000 units just 13 months after it was introduced in April 2024.

After the downturn caused by the pandemic, Ather’s sales and market share have shown a steady YoY growth. The latter stood at 8 percent in CY22 and has grown to 14 percent as of today.

The company is set to unveil its new EL platform on August 30, expanding its product portfolio to include a more cost effective option that should make the brand more accessible to buyers. Currently, other players in the 2W EV space, like Bajaj, TVS, Vida (Hero), and Ola Electric all have an offering under the 1L mark, and the new platform is expected to introduce a variant that rivals them.
