Both are excellent options and should fit in your budget of Rs 45 lakh. The Volvo EX30 is the more contemporary option with more luxurious interiors. However, it isn't very spacious and is missing some features you would expect at this price.Overall, your better bet is the BYD Atto 3, which, though a little bit older and with a quirky interior design, is the more complete car. Most of all, this BYD car has a more spacious interior, particularly in the rear seat. Moreover, it has a slightly higher range rating and a slightly lower price than the Volvo.

The BMW iX1, Volvos and Mahindra XEV 9S are all quite different propositions, so the ‘best’ one really depends on what you value beyond interiors.The BMW iX1 is actually one of the more practical luxury EVs, with a spacious cabin. a genuinely premium feel and strong performance, which makes it very good value in the luxury EV space. If your only concern is that the interior doesn’t wow you visually, it’s still worth a serious look because the perceived quality, ergonomics and driving experience are all very strong.Assuming you’re referring to the Volvo EC40 and EX30, both offer very classy, minimalist cabins with high-quality materials and that typical Scandinavian design feel, but with almost everything controlled via the touchscreen. However, they are not very spacious; the EX30 in particular is tight at the rear, with limited legroom and a cramped benchThe Mahindra XEV 9S cannot match the Europeans for material richness or finesse of fit and finish, but it is fantastic value and absolutely nails space, comfort and features, especially if you need a proper family EV and possibly seven seats. Volvo hasn’t launched the EX60 in India yet, so the only one you can actually buy right now is the EX40. Also, I’m assuming you meant 260 km, not 260 miles (260 miles is over 400 km), which is a much tougher ask.The EX40 has an official WLTP range of around 475 km, and in real-world Indian conditions, you should comfortably see about 350-380 km on a full charge. Also, depends on your driving style and usage of the air conditioning. So a 260 km one-shot run is well within its realistic capability, with a fair buffer in hand.As an all-round EV, the EX40 is a solid choice: refined, safe and quick enough, with a usable real-world range for intercity runs if you plan charging stops sensibly at your destination.If you mostly drive alone and the rear seat is rarely used, you could also look at the smaller Volvo EX30, which is Rs 10 lakh cheaper. It’s also more powerful, more entertaining to drive and offers a similar or slightly better usable range, but the back seat is cramped and not ideal if passengers are a priority.

Check out the Volvo EX30 - it's a compact crossover with a high-tech, luxurious interior and loads of features with a focus on safety. It comes with a large 65kWh battery with a WLTP range of 480km and strong performance from its 272hp single motor setup. Its quirky design is very EV forward and will stand out on the road for looking like nothing else on the market.The only consideration you have to make is that, being a compact electric car, it's not super spacious in the rear seat. There are other great EVs at this price, but none of them are compact - like the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and BYD Seal.
